If RT bankrupted itself to win a years-long court case into the legalities of Death Battle against one of the most powerful corporate forces on the planet, it would be a pyrrhic victory.

These, or a DBX. Undertale is such a short experience there probably isn't much research to be done, or even that much to go off of. Undyne, Flowey, etc really haven't done much.

Like Final Fantasy it should be highly debatable what feats in Undertale actually count. I mean, almost every monster in this game despite wielding magical power can be    murdered    by a child with a stick.

I've stated before that I would like to see Sans face off against Wiz and Boomstick themselves, admittedly not to see who would win, but to see them get blow-back for all of the heroes who have either died horribly or became cold-blooded killers because of them.

Undertale would be weird to do because the game is so meta that standard gameplay mechanics are actually canon to the universe. Like, loading up an RPG battle screen when Frisk gets into a fight is a canon thing that actually happens and is part of the character's powerset.

There is no Gameplay and Story Segregation. Even reloading your save file or starting a new game is canon.

I don't know if anyone short of a fourth-wall breaker like Deadpool can really fight Frisk or Chara. Even then, Frisk has fought those.

I still stand by Sans VS Shedinja as a fight they should do.

Jury's still out on if Sans' bones could penetrate Wonder Guard, though. As of Gen VII we have a Ghost-type attack involving a bone but all the bone-based attacks prior to that were Ground type (including Lucario's aura-based variants.)

Say, have the DB crew ever talked about whether or not it's feasible to have a Death Battle between two RTS factions? I vaguely remember a topic of similar nature being discussed by them in the past.

@Bocaj: First, I believe she only started doing that late into the Fate route, at a point where the teenage girl side of her personality that she had more or less completely suppressed since the day she assumed the role of King Arthur finally awakened, and she also realized that she's in love with Shirou.

Second, I could've sworn her self-consciousness was about her figure in general, not just her bust. IIRC she expressed envy towards Rin for being quite "curvy" in comparison (which is true) or somesuch. And then there's her Muscle Angst, which is unfortunately 'not backed up by her actual design... but is something that a few fan artists took upon themselves to correct.

@EpicBleye: Honestly speaking, I am so unimpressed with both the canon explanation behind Lartoria's divergence from Sabertoria and throwing out Excalibur and Avalon in favor of Rhongomyniad (especially since it's canon that Sabertoria wielded Rhong during her life as King Arthur as well) that I actually decided to invoke Death of the Author / Fanon Discontinuity and write my own take on the former, with my alternative explanation being that for some reason or the other the age-stopping aspect of the magic in both Caliburn and Avalon only took effect after Artoria had reached adulthood^note My original plan was that the magic somehow got damaged or was flawed from the beginning, but while writing this I decided to look up what I can of the real-world legend of King Arthur... and in at least some versions he's eighteen years old when he pulled the sword from the stone, rather than 15 as Artoria did. According to modern research, adolescents finish puberty at around age 17 on average; now, we probably should add a few years to that to account for the comparatively inferior conditions that (pre-)medieval European commoners had to live through, but Artoria was adopted by a knight (i.e. better chances of decent food to properly fuel her body growth), and furthermore she was born superhuman to begin with (she's described as a "dragon in human form", in terms of Magic Circuits and whatnot). So... Just delay the whole sword-drawing event by three years and have her go through a really rapid growth spurt during them..

One, that's not what Deathofthe Author means. Two, your alternative explanation isn't an explanation, it's rewriting the events that happened entirely.

Now I'm not saying that the reason for Lancer Artoria is stellar, far from it, but at the very least it's internally consistent.

Deltarune, at least outwardly, seems to be a little less "meta" and a little more "adventurey" than Undertale. Probably better-suited for Death Battle.

that seems like its just asking for a headache, matching every unit against every other one. You're more likely to see something like Eggman V Wiley, where two RTS faction leaders fight with their armies fighting in the background.

@Mordred: I feel FGO localization is bit… inconsistent? with Mordred. I guess it is contextual. I don't have regular version of Mordred and it has been while since London was out, but summer Mordred is referred as female. This is noticeable with Artoria: She is referred to as female most of the time across her different versions except with Lion King, who is referred as male.

I don't care for Rewind Rumble's logic and wouldn't recommend watching this for the analysis, though.

FGO being inconsistent is par for the course. Apparently their translation team is of the overworked and understaffed variety with really brutal deadlines. In any case Heroic Spirits do have the ability to change their body when they materialize, we see this with servants like Da Vinci and Chiron, so Mordred's certainly comfortable with a female body.

I really liked Sans in One Minute Melee. It really is only a matter of time before he's Death Battle'd isn't it?

(2) Hopefully not. The last match they had lined up I believe was Sosuke "EVERYTHING ACCORDING TO KEIKAKU" Aizen versus Madara "HASHI-RAAAAMAAAA~" Uchiha.

Heck, that's a Death Battle I want to see. The man who backstabs people like it's going out of style and lost when he tried to fight someone head-on, vs the guy who got backstabbed after spending several hours kicking ass and taking names while on the front lines.

That fight might be my Thanos vs Darkseid honestly.

Aizen:

• just looking at my sword the wrong way ensures your defeat
• my magic sword powers are better than your magic sword powers
• so much better that I don't even need a Bankai, or a sword, or magic sword powers

Madara:

• just looking into my eyes the wrong way ensures your defeat
• my ninja magic is better than your ninja magic
• so much better that I can capture all nine Tailed Beasts by myself after all of the previous bad guys spent half the series trying to do the same thing

I mean, both results ultimately makes since, it's just that Undertale disgusts me on an aesthetic and personal level. Which is probably how you feel about EXE, which I can sympathize (even though EXE is my favorite MM verse.)
