First thing's first: KEEP. THIS. SHIT. CIVIL. If you can't talk about race without resorting to childish insults and rude generalizations or getting angry at people who don't see it your way, leave the thread.
With that said, I bring you to what can hopefully be the general thread about race.
First, a few starter questions.
- How, if at all, do you feel your race affects your everyday life?
- Do you believe that white people (or whatever the majority race in your area is) receive privileges simply because of the color of their skin. How much?
- Do you believe minorities are discriminated against for the same reason? How much?
- Do you believe that assimilation of cultures is better than people trying to keep their own?
- Affirmative Action. Yea, Nay? Why or why not?
Also, a personal question from me.
- Why (in my experience, not trying to generalize) do white people often try to insist that they aren't white? I can't count the number of times I've heard "I'm not white, I'm 1/4th English, 1/4th German, 1/4th Scandinavian 1/8th Cherokee, and 1/8th Russian," as though 4 of 5 of those things aren't considered "white" by the masses. Is it because you have pride for your ancestry, or an attempt to try and differentiate yourself from all those "other" white people? Or something else altogether?

And? It's practically a non-sequitur, since it was in response to Ultimatum saying the right-wing on Reddit was going into overdrive about this incident.
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."And they are combating them on it. That is all I am saying
Well I've not really noticed sub reddits combating the right as much as I've noticed the alarming lengths they'll go to the discredit a story
New theme music also a boxI'm morbidly curious to what they've been saying/trying, but not so much so that I want to hunt through the depths of Reddit.
Yeah, Reddit is a bit of a cesspool at the moment.
They should have sent a poet.x5 I interpreted it as a "look on the bright side" sort of thing.

There is quite a few subreddits trying to combat the alt-reich. They sadly don't have as much attention though. I found them by accident
And to be quite frank the alt-reich is basically go full victim blamey on the old Native guy and saying dumb shit like Oh he was looking to harass the kids or using what the kid's mother said as an excuse.
Also standard racist stuff like The Natives deserved it or completely forgetting that the Europeans in the past were the immigrants to this continent. Or just saying its fake.

"How dare he play that drum in their faces!"
Meanwhile, I'm applauding his restraint.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.ikr? Forget just using the stick... I'd be tempted try making the smug git wear the drum.
Isn't there this new racist theory out that the REAL native americans were white and the red natives killed them, so America belongs rightfully to the white race?
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianIt really don't helps that most of those subs are quite toxic as well. Top Minds is the least toxic and it ocassionally engages in Soviet/Castro apology and "Death To Amerikkka" mindset.
The usual narrative wasn't a Social Darwinist "We won, get over it, be thanksful we let you alive"?

Watch me destroying my countryIt was the Indigenous People's March. Guy literally said in an interview that he was just moving along the route and tried to figure out an alternate path when the kids started blocking his way.
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)One of the terrible fucking things about the Trump Presidency is it encourages people to act like assholes who normally should be looking up to the President for better behavior.
Stories about people telling their teachers to go back to Mexico and other shit.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I have seen those exact sentiments expressed online and on the street.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. The social darwinist narrative of the conquest? It isn't the dominant one to try to excuse/Justify it?

Watch me destroying my countryI keep seeing these articles popping up saying "The Full Video Shows Us How the Covington Boys were Being Harassed!" and I'm just like, "Soooooo...how exactly is this supposed to change my opinion of them and what they did?"
I'm also honestly not surprised, though, that we don't have this little fucker's name yet. I know he'll probably be protected by his white Christian male privilege, but it would be nice to put a name to such a wretched face.
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."Yep. "You lost, get over it and stop being criminals/drunks/welfare parasites. Why does anyone care about your dead cultures?"
Sickening, and ever prevalent.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Thats not new, thats one of the Mormon beliefs.
They are a varied group tho, some branches are clearly less racist than the others.

Watch me destroying my countryThe Sisters Of Mercy just publicly scolded the MAGA teens for harassing Native veteran.
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."Specifically, they're not generic white men but Jews who were the ancestors of Native Americans.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Castro is not the same as the Soviets. He's kind of awful, but seeing what happened to Central America and the Caribbean, his regime comes off as a lesser evil, and counts on it to stay in power. Meanwhile the USA government comes off as the source of all horror in the region, and victim-blames to boot. The more you submit to them, the harder they treat you. See the Disaster Capitalism in Puerto Rico, with the post-hurricane ethnic cleansing, deregulation, privatization, disenfranchisenent, and turning the place into a playground for 'high net worth' Whites.
This is classic Castro apologism delivered by well intentioned progressives. “Well, he wasn’t as bad as Stalin, and it was the US’s fault anyways!”
None of that particularly minimizes Castro’s evil.
They should have sent a poet."Not as bad as Stalin" seems like a pretty low bar to clear.
Disgusted, but not surprised
That there are a lot of subreddits combating the right. I don't think she could've made that clearer.
