Discussion of religion in the context of LGBTQ+ rights is only allowed in the LGBTQ+ Rights and Religion Thread.
Discussion of religion in any other context is off topic in all of the "LGBTQ+ rights..." threads.
Attempting to bait others into bringing up religion is also not allowed.

Specific business kilts aren't a thing, IIRC, but they are considered formal wear.
Not Three Laws compliant. If that's the entire document, it isn't very well written, because there doesn't seem to be much clarity on what it means for clothing to be "consistent with biological gender" - the only obvious meaning to me is clothing that fits anatomical geometry. (Do men have to wear mandatory codpieces, then?) Clarifying that would require them to take the ideologically repulsive step of acknowledging gender as a social norm, so this is the only section that seems to provide any context:
The vagueness is a feature not a bug. This way they can penalize essentially any queer person (or any person in-general) for any reason they want.
You're trans and dressing in clothing you ID as? Police harassment and jail.
You're gay (and cis) and you dress in a way that's otherwise normal but gives off 'wrong' vibes? Police harassment and jail.
You're dressed completely normally but the police are keeping an eye on you because you've advocated for queer rights or taken part in a protest? Police harassment and jail.
You get the point. This kind of open-ended law is great if you want a perpetual authoritarian crackdown against a minority group or dissidents. I'm sure there were similarly vague laws in Nazi Germany or Jim Crow-era South.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnDepartment of Justice is challenging Tennessee's anti-trans law.
About damn time.
Trans rights are human rights.Kansas Legislature overrides governor's veto to sign a anti-trans bathroom bill into law.
It declares that “distinctions between the sexes” in certain spaces “are substantially related to the important governmental objectives of protecting the health, safety and privacy of individuals in such circumstances.” The new law applies to school restrooms, locker rooms, prisons, domestic violence shelters and rape crisis centers.
Oh, another law that denies the existence of everything that doesn't fall into those two categories. That's going to be fun.
Avatar SourceSo, how long until the specificity of the wording gets used against someone that's "just" infertile? I'm sure the collateral is intended, there.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI don't understand the point of a veto if it can be vetoed.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Overriding a veto requires a significantly higher threshold than passing a bill to begin with.
So in theory, if a bad bill squeaks by by a narrow majority the governor can quash it, but if there's overwhelming support that one person can't just ignore that. "Checks and balances" and all that.
In practice it's an incentive to gerrymander.

Trans rights are human rights.Iirc, a veto override requires 2/3 votes in both chambers of congress, while normal legislature only requires that in the senate and a simple majority in the House of Representatives. Don't know if that varies by state, assuming I'm right to begin with
I think there’s one or two states where it can be done with a flat majority, I think at least one of them comes from an outgoing Republican governor agreeing with a Republican legislature to change the rules before handing over to the newly elected Democrat.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranIt does vary from state to state. Some states allow their legislature to override a veto with a simple majority, making the governor's veto power an almost ceremonial power.
In addition some states allow "line item vetos" that allow a governor to veto part of legislation. While this is intended for a governor to reject entire sections at a time or at least full clauses, in some cases the rules were vague enough that a governor could veto individual words, allowing them to completely change the meaning of the bill.
Texas Department of Agriculture issues new dress code requiring department employees dress "in a manner consistent with their biological gender".
And here is an example of exactly why transphobia, sexism and misogyny are different sides of the same coin. Transphobes are never protecting women's rights, they're using an unprotected minority group to destroy women's rights. Anyone who cares about women's rights should be protecting the trans community.

As a general rule, most rock and roll icons become the establishment, sooner or later. Last time I heard from KISS, they were demanding people say the Pledge before a concert.
Far as I know, KISS was always like that. I remember the only reason the band was formed was for the money. If that's not Capitalism: The Band, I don't know what is, and everything else following is unsurprising when you start from that premise.
SoundCloudKISS was always the gentrified version of metal. Of course, you would hope people who caught strays during the Satanic Panic would be more cautious with moral panics, but nothing is given.
A hate group of Anti-Trans Doctors had a google drive leaked this year. - Wired.
Amongst the bullshit they’ve been peddling is:
1. Junk science labeling kids of LGBT+ parents are worse off than heterosexual ones.
2. They’ve been pushing it as a social contagion and used the ROGD “research” as proof to target Medical Professionals.
3. They’ve performed numerous ethics violations including making some of the Anti-LGBT+ Legislation that’s been passed.
Edit: Gender critical men have been using the HER dating app in order to find and target Trans women. All they’ve done is find each other and say the others are trans women.
This is after Said app makes clear transphobia won’t be tolerated on the App after their Twitter account was suspended. -pink news.

Skimming that article gives me new appreciation for the Southern Poverty Law Center. They're labeling those guys a hate group actively cost them donations.

Indiana governor signs "Don't Say Gay" bill that forces teachers to out trans kids to their parents.
School staff must provide written notification to parents within five days of a child asking to be preferred to by a different "pronoun, title, or word".
It also bans discussion of "human sexuality" in pre-K through 3rd grade. Notably, human sexuality is not defined and can probably be used to ban any discussion of LGBTQ+ people in the classroom, fire teachers, and ban books.

I do hope teachers react by calling meetings every time a kid has a new nickname. Parents are gonna get sick of the law quick if they’re being called in for meetings that consist of “Thomas has been going by Tommy today and I’m legally required to let you know”, “Thomas has been having a select group call him “Big T” as of yesterday and I’m legally required to let you know”, “A number of students have now started referring to Thomas as Tom and I’m legally required to let you know”.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ Cyran"Children who have been previously reported to be bullying Tommy have been referring to him as Tammy and and calling him 'gay'. I am legally obligated to let you know so that action may be taken."
"I am writing to inform you that while previously his friends have referred to Tommy as 'my guy', I have recently overheard them call him 'dude,' and on at least one occasion, 'the GOAT.' I am legally required to report this to you."
The bill says "human sexuality", maybe teachers can work around it by teaching about gay animals.
