The Game explained fine, unless the description was dramatically changed. I first found out what The Game was from that page. At the very least, couldn't it be a Useful Notes page?
Personally, I'd be happy to see all meme pages removed. They're not works, they're not tropes, and we're not trying to be a less thorough version of Know Your Meme.
The Game is a real game, if a pointless one. It is, therefore, a "work". Why shouldn't it deserve a page?
At the same time, though, its memetastic usage on the site means that it gets potholed inappropriately - which is part of the downfall of several other members of the Permanent Red Link Club. (EDIT: For example, X Just X was originally just for a quote of that format used in a work... Trope Decay hit that like almost nothing else in existence.)
Of course, there's an extremely good argument that we've been extremely lax about such potholes for other running memes. For example, if anyone mentions drills in any way, shape, or form, you could practically make a game out of trying to guess how long it'll be before there's a pothole to Gurren Lagann, no matter how inappropriate the pothole is.
Maybe a rule about potholing for meme purposes needs to be put into place - you can only do it if it's a deliberate invocation In-Universe.

Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Huh. I thought this was like The Movie, or The Film of the Book, for videogames (that aren't quite The Problem with Licensed Games).
So much for No Such Thing As Notability, huh.
Also what about cases of where it shows up in fiction you know Adventure Time is going to (if it already hasn't) use it. Plus there are other thought experiments that act just like that game.
You are now thinking of a white polar bear.

Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comIf the page is eventually deleted permanently, it may be a good idea to redirect to The Game
For that matter, it may be useful to do so in the meantime, rather than leave links that point to an annoying blank page
Come on, even The Other Wiki have an article about The Game http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Game_%28mind_game%29, and they are way more annoying than us about that. It IS a real game, more than a Meme. If we are going to remove The Game from this Wiki, we might as well remove every game, and all sports articles we have. Its exactly the same thing.
How exactly is it a game anyway?
For example, looking at Wikipedia's page on games, it says "Key components of games are goals, rules, challenge, and interaction". The Game has none of these.
I'd say it's clearly not a game, it's certainly not a work, and Know Your Meme.com is that-a-way.

^ The Game has a goal (not to think about The Game) The Game has rules (just look at Wikipedia page that was linked to). The Game has challenge (it's really hard not to think about The Game). The Game has interaction (people announcing to each other that they have lost The Game)
The Game may be a meme, but is also a game.

And interaction doesn't need to be with other people. Look at solitaire.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickIf you twist the terms like that, then anything and everything can be called a "game" - and by that logic, we can fill T Vtropes with all kinds of minor memetical nonsense. There are several websites that cater to precisely that; this is not one of them.
The thing is real people play this game. I should know, because I play with my friends.
Before the article was cut, it also said that some Stargate show had an episode where some of the characters played it, so it's been mentioned in media before.
How about an article about the book "The Game" by Neil Strauss?
Sorry to bump this, but should we also come up with a page for the ::The Game:: series of Flash games? Part of my problem is that I can never remember variation on "Video Game" in the namespace gets the tab to show up.

Looks to me like what we want is a disambiguation page.
The correct namespace is VideoGame/. There's no tab for it.

Rhymes with "Protracted."Reviving the thread:
I think a disambiguation page would be appropriate - I would probably put information about the social experiment on Meme. The Game.
I support uncutting the page to turn it into a disambiguation for the TV series, film, whatever else we have. Obvious choice, although you might want to lock it to prevent someone from meme-spamming it.
A'ight, it's a disambiguation now. Looks like we're done here.
Rhymes with "Protracted."
Yeah, The Game page explained what The Game was quite well, if I remember correctly. This isn't just a meme. It is an actual game people actually play in Real Life. Yeah, it is stupid and pointless, but we are not one to judge.
