'Tis good? All I got for now.
First thread=jittery Onion
The zombies are coming, but it's okay, I've planned out what to do in exactly two thousand one hundred and nine semi-plausible situations.Looks great! I started with three too.
Contact Me!I agree with Tagg. And honestly, the way some people ignore each other, we may as well be running several separate R Ps sometimes. Granted, it may not be that bad at the moment, but it's still rather appalling.
Even is events don't directly pertain to your character, they can still have effects on you at some point down the line. Even if you can't read someone's posts (Which is acceptable), or don't want to (Which isn't), you could at least ask the author to sum things up for you so that you at least can grasp what's happening.
Also, from what I may have gathered (Which may be grossly wrong, so sue me if it is), apparently certain people going out of the way to world-build is "hogging the RP." Personally, I'm saddened that the very act to treat this RP as more than twenty people and their Pokémon going around causing wanton property damage having adventures as hogging the RP saddening.
You have to remember that this isn't a forum game any more. Back then, it was fine to have legendaries and do the sort of thing that would end up with half the region fearing our character's names because we weren't so fussed about continuity back then. But now that we're an RP and we're dealing with an established continuity, we have to remember that:
- 1) Our actions have consequences for other peoplemons, whether good or bad.
- and 2) Worldbuilding is good, but if you can't do it, please don't stop others from doing it.
Okay, that's everything. Feel free to Tell me how much this post sucks provide constructive feedback.

Your post sucks. Good points, Luke.
Slightly off-topic, I was planning on RCing Jirachi sometime soon. I just wanted to know
1. If that was okay with everyone.
2. What kind of character he/she/it has and any important information I need to know if it is indeed okay.
And no, Rex/Kim will not be interacting with it/catching it.
Well, Gamer has a Jirachi that he got from a delivery man in a Pokemart prior to the events of the RP, but it is not clear whether it is the Jirachi. Besides, he hasn't really used it in a long time, and he did state an intention to release it at some point.
Other than that, I can't really think of anything.
So, I had two main things that I wanted to check for the near future...
The first of these was to see who here would be interested in participating in the Eugeni!Tar event Seeing as the Pokeringer does not appear to be in any condition to end by Wednesday, it may have to be run in the unspecified near future after whenever the Pokeringer ends, so all you continuity freaks keep that in mind (unless a more elegant alternative for chronological scheduling is proposed)...
The second of these is a check to see how on earth we're going to be able to run the Pokeringer promptly, seeing as one of the fears expressed going into it was that the group would have to be stuck in Fortree for an additional week (which seems like it may actually happen). Solutions at providing "Escape Clauses" e.g. A Tournament Bypass and pulling a switcheroo with the Jade Orb or auto-DQing particularly laggy competitors if things take too long or simply anything that would allow the group members not in the running to be able to leave Fortree in spite of the gravity of the situation, would be highly appreciated.

Hard Boiled Detective Since 1985On Eugeni!Tar
My suggestion would be a floating, foggy future Time Shenanigan. Floating and foggy in the sense that it does not provide more information about the when or the where (does this miniplot have to take place in any specific location though?) that what the posts do. So that sometime in the future we can coordinate and say "Ok, guys, let's assume the Eugeni!tar took place now" and we post something short in the sense of "we go to Place X to run a Plot Y [link]".
On Plot Pacing
I'd disregard auto-D Qing as an option, honestly. All I can recommend is to run battles in parallel, and to define beforehand who will be the winners/losers of the final rounds so that given the eventual need the contestant players can compress post and win/lose fairly quickly.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? If worst comes to worst, I vote that Rayquaza swoops down, taps the organizer on the shoulder and says "I believe you have something of mine."
And now, class time. See you later!
Because of a conversation in the chatroom I remembered that there are many pending scenes yet to be shenaniganed that we took different levels of commitment to do but never did. It could be a good thing to leave those available here so that we know we can have things to do even if it appears there's nothing available to do in-RP.
Incomplete list based on what I can remember (extra pointers and corrections are welcome). The "requires" lists only the minimal reuqirements, other things can be added according to continuity details:
- WAAPTers Dinner at the Gold Conference facilities (requires: a good amount of us, and some of the mons we had back then).
- Battle against a Giant Druddigon♀ in AU!Goldenrod (requires: Silent; dunno what else).
- Tagg's championship battle at the Orange Islands (requires: a player for Drake; dunno who else if there were other RP'ers at the stands).
- Last part of the Delta Battles at Shamouti Island (requires: Silent and Rex; volunteers to play Deltas are also welcome; Gamer and someone else (Fool?) were also in location but dunno if they want to participate)
- Basket finally meeting her family at the Orange Islands (requires: Tangent and Fool, probably Silent; dunno what else).
- Pending Mindscapes (requires: ...whoever wants to go in, I guess).
- ...Is there any Cubone Tribes silliness pending?
- ...anything else?
EDIT count: 2.

Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Another idea: first, read this, though it may seem like blatant self-promotion at first (it's a chapter from my fic):

I was wondering if the concept of a Alakazam-Metagross precursor civ could be explored at all. And I'm still waiting on Giratina suggestions.

Contact Me!Sorry for the double post.
And sorry for what I said about Crewe. I just wanted to tell Luke, but the format messed up on me...
I'll have to leave this RP. I can't live that down unless someone convinces me otherwise via PM. Bye.
Contact Me!Wait, I'm confused. What?
Chatroom impasse Wolf. Don't worry.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?'Kay.
-goes back to not worrying-
Yeah, I'm back now.
Contact Me!Oh well, all that was a nice social experiment, just as planned. Fastest way to flood your own inbox with PMs, right Umbra?
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? Are you going to use the P Ms to destroy/take over the world? D:
Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.Yes. And in a very special way: I'll resend them and relay them over your Soul-charging telecom... but as collect calls!!! Mwha mwha~
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? That's not very nice Mr. Silent~
Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.Hush. I can give you royalties per call~
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Ooh~
Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.Oh well, here we are at it again.
There was some private discussion today (yesterday), of which logs will be made available somehow, when I'm less tired. Don't worry, should be afternoon today localtime anyway Some of the conversation went around the issue of the chatroom and its usage.
Bottom line, the chatroom promotes instantaneousness as well as certain not very likable behaviours. For which we have behaved immaturely. Immaturity leads to GIFT. GIFT leads to suffering. Overused reference is overused. But it causes some serious issues. For example, the chatroom is supposed to help us planning. But with that much drama and randomness going on, new ideas, questions and suggestions are more or less swallowed and torn by the tide, just ask Umbramatic about it (no offense pal; I'll get to answer your newest Giratina concerns sometime). Add to that that we aren't reflecting the decisions that we do manage to make in chatroom into the Discussion thread a.k.a. here. Likely the excess noise has prevented most serious attempts at discussing potential plots recently, in particular as to what comes next TA/TM wise.
So, the usage of the chatroom has to change. Two plans, at least, were discussed as potential strategies, and we would like your input for them.
The first plan is to move each of creative discussion, off-topicness and drama to their own chatroom. This involves the creation of a third chatroom, which would probably be "waapt-offtopic". The normal chatroom will become dedicated to actual, honest to Arceus creative RP and/or Pokémon related discussion, while all the YOUR FACE jokes, favourite Legendary and similar stuff would go to the offtopic one.
The second plan is to separate into only two chatrooms, which is what we have now: a creative one and a drama one. Offtopicness and randomness would go into the normal chatroom as it has always been, but they will become more or less moderated as with all discussion. In what sense? Well, we'll have established mods (still to be chosen) who will pick subjects of discussions as well as lock the /topic for easier searchability and record. That way we can switch between discussion about a particular subject or the randomness of the day, accordingly.
Regardless of choice, two key points will be enforced (somehow): first, drama will be moved to the drama chatroom, and second, important decisions and process about the RP discussed in the chatroom MUST be mirrored into Discussion a.k.a. here. Ideally messages of the kind of "Silentran♂: by the way guys, remember to post in Discussion, g'night" should never have to happen again.
Also we consider a key factor in the choice the fact that for Speequers, switching across yet another channel would be a burden.
So, thoughts on this? There were other subjects, but we wanted to bring this particular one to the front.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?I'm not entirely clear on the RP-relevant chatroom concept. Is it a essentially a complete replacement for the Discussion thread?
There is no night without dawn. The sun is always sure to rise.
You know, that "I'm not reading this because it doesn't directly pertain to my character" attitude that I've noted amongst a number of you is pretty much why we have the "Going beyond the show of disrespect, it makes us get less connected to each other, made worse because then we have to be hesitant about who to propose plots to, eventually always having to fall back to the same possé." complaint in the first place.
Honestly, with attitudes like that, I'm personally reluctant to discuss plots with people that aren't named Tracer, Tangent, or Silent because I feel like I'll be tl;dr'ed like them, or otherwise blown off. How the hell are we even going to work together when we can't even be arsed to read eachother's stuff? Quite frankly, I expect BETTER out of us, and while perhaps this is a bit harsh, I haven't really been seeing that lately and over the past couple months.
