It'd work better if the picture was in color. She's covering up all the naughty bits, but being a black and white image is the only thing that makes the pic bad.
Making the subject so small is actually another problem.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The character is Dejah Thoris from John Carter Of Mars. I found the original artwork, but it doesn't resize any better than what's on the page.
I've been GIS'ing the character, but everything I'm finding is either blatantly NSFW or toes the line enough to be borderline. Here's the best I've been able to find:
- the left half
- [1] Lounging (probably too far into NSFW territory) (post #10)
- Lounging (B&W)◊
Here's another option from the examples: Kate Winslet◊ from Titanic, captioned "We can't show you anything else."

How about we go back to one of the oldest ones in the book (or on film, at least): Mata Hari

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I like this one◊. We'd still have to clip it though.
Fight smart, not fair.Gem-Encrusted bikini is not nude.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. She doesn't have to be completely nude. "A woman wears prominent jewelry in such a way as to draw attention to what she's not wearing. "
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Given the title, I'm pretty sure that this is the trope for only wearing jewellery. I as I'm sure many other have, read that sentence as what she wasn't wearing was clothing.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThe Winslet example works perfectly as a balance between Work Safe and illustrating the image.

Bump...any other thoughts?
Gem-Encrusted bikini minus the rest of the bikini! Also minus the wearer [1]◊

I'd go with either the Dejah Thoris picture first. My second choice would be Enraged Filia's suggestion, with the caption "Imagine a woman wearing this. Got it? Good."
I reject your requirement for a witty statement or fanboyish squealing in my signature.Bump...any other thoughts?
Pretty sure somebody can just hit up Rule34 for Dejah Thoris (there's a lot of her there) and find something suitable-ish, then crop it as necessary.
If they're willing to invest the time.
Nous restons ici.Well, there's this◊, along with the ones I suggested earlier.
I like the Titanic pic best so far.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.Heh, I just wanted to bump that too. I think crowner is in order.
Made.

Bump for more votes...as of right now:
- Dejah Thoris: +4 (yeas:4 nays:0)
- left half of this Deja Thoris: +2 (yeas:3 nays:1) 3.00 : 1
- lounging: +1 (yeas:1 nays:0)
- Kate Winslet: +1 (yeas:1 nays:0)
The others are in the red.
It's been a week and we've got a winner. The new pic is up, potholed, and tagged. Caption or no? I was thinking "Martian fashion: redefining "minimalist"."

Locking up.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
Not that we need a Not Safe for Work picture, but surely there can be a picture where we can see the trope better.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
