Michael Giacchino, Matt Reeves' frequent collaborator, is hinting he'll be doing the score for The Batman.
Speaking of The Batman, our Dark Knight had to drop out of the sequel for The Souvenir due to scheduling conflicts.
What was really screwy was how ComicBook.com titled it in a way that made it sound like Pattinson was dropping out of being Batman...
Not cool, guys.
What's funny is that he's dropping over Christopher Nolan's new film...which isn't The Batman.
After Kevin Tsujihara's recent quitting, WB has elected their new CEO: Ann Sarnoff from BBC Studios America!
Hopefully this means more female-centered DC films since WB seems to be doing well on those.
"The devil's got all the good gear. What's God got? The Inspiral Carpets and nuns. Fuck that." - Liam GallagherNot sure how credible this is, but you guys know how everyone went ballistic when DC Universe's Swamp Thing shoe got canned?
The backlash may have just gotten us one step closer to getting a new Swamp Thing movie.
That's interes...

Never mind.

Matt Reeves is reportedly looking at Vanessa Kirby to play the new Catwoman.
From one tricky lady to another. Noice.
Speaking of Catwoman, Matt Reeves’ Batman movie is moving to pre-production now!
Vanessa Kirby would be excellent as Catwoman, although I was looking at a possible racebent Catwoman (a la Maisie Richardson-Sellers or Jade Eshete).
The last time they racebent Catwoman we had Halle Berry show up in person to accept the Razzie awards. I can see why they want to avoid that.
It’s often skipped over that Selina Kyle is canonically half-Cuban.
Dick, I think I can trust a burgler from cuba....
Except the reason the movie was terrible wasn't because of Halle Berry.
It was terrible for a lot of reasons, but people think Selina Kyle when they think Catwoman, and Halle wasn’t even playing Selina.
Point is, that movie sucked, and no one wants to be reminded of it.
I doubt anybody off the internet would care.
Yeah, "The movie got a Razzie because they made her black" is a very odd leap to make.
That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying “let’s not remind people of the Razzie film in our casting when we can use someone who is a good actor and doesn’t do that.” The former is a...really big leap to make.

As far as reasons not to racebend/genderbend/gaybend a character "people might complain" is such a poor reason short of actually being one of those people that it reads as a strawman. Congratulations, because this might actually be the first time I've seen any kind of attitude resembling WTH, Casting Agency? over the possibility of a racebent Catwoman that didn't come from actively combing websites exclusively populated by racists. I hardly see anyone complaining about Eartha Kitt for race reasons. Hell, while we're at it the racists don't make much noise over Halle Berry for race reasons, probably because their animal-like sex drive is too busy clouding their brains. The pre-release furor over Anne Hathaway was more controversial than these two.
The idea that a black Catwoman would only make people think of Halle Berry and not the other time they racebent her is also a really big leap to make, because, once again, Eartha Kitt is not exactly obscure.

... getting distressingly close to "it's not like I want every movie to have a White Male Lead, it's just that the audiences won't accept a non-WML so the studios' hands are tied."
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Uh...no. This is a particular case. As a general rule racelifting comic characters always seems to make people mad, but here there was a bad movie that people don’t want to think about.
And nobody even thinks of Halle Berry's blackness in any way when they think of the movie's failure. Except, y'know, actual racists, and even then, only the most extreme ones.

Other actresses I would love to see play Catwoman:
Or, if they want an older actress: Gina Bellman (who pretty much already played Catwoman in Leverage).
