I just noticed that starwars.com has removed the members of Clone Force 99 from the online Databank. Probably preparing to update them when the new season airs.
Even though The Siege of Mandalore is the series finale and all, I'm really hoping that they'll still do an 8th season of Clone Wars once that's done. Admittedly it seems like wishful thinking at this point, but I'm intrigued by all these unfinished story arcs and I'd hate for them to forever remain unreleased. At the very least, if they don't get animated, I hope they get adapted into novels or something similar.
In the meantime, I am looking forward to Season 2 of Resistance.

They WERE releasing them in other formats, but we only got a couple of them. Maybe the show coming back will also inspire a return to the Clone Wars Legacy project. There’s a finite number of stories left to tell from developed scripts. Please tell them!
This is pretty neat.
I really dig the Han one they released recently.
Trailer for Resistance's 2nd - and final - season:
So I haven't been watching but this is the final season? Did it not do well?
It probably did ok (though doesn’t seem to have the same traction as Rebels did even early on), but I’m sure this decision has more to do with wanting to move shows like this to Disney+.
Also, given the state of the Resistance at the end of Episode VIII, there’s probably not too many places you could take the show once you catch up. Which they’ll do quickly, because this isn’t like TCW or Rebels where they left themselves years to play within. The Sequel Trilogy so far covers the span of maybe a few months.
Yeah, there's only going to be a year's gap between 8 and 9, and Resistance's second season likely covers that time period as the First Order extends throughout the galaxy (and will also likely cover the rest of the Resistance trying to link up with the survivors from Crait).
Also, between Siege of Mandalore and this ending, we might get our next Filoni directed series sooner than we think. I can't imagine they would end this without having something new in the works for Disney+.
More pressingly, ya'll take a closer look that trailer: Not one, not two, not three, but multiple, multiple Super Battle Droids. The Crimson Corsair, Sidon Ithano himself - we could potentially be getting a surprise cameo from none other than our homeboy Kix.

I'm aware. That's why I said we might see his next series sooner than we think.
Also Matt the radar technician outfit is now canon.

Do we know that's all there is? In particular I think it'd be a shame to not have the bounty hunter arc with Cad Bane's death, leaving that character a loose end.
Season 7 will be Bad Batch, Ahsoka's Walkabout, and Siege of Mandalore.

Also why Bad Batch? It's already been released in one form. Why not include something we haven't seen like the Wookie arc? Or Cad Bane? Or Mon Cala?
Probably cause the work is already partway done, so there wasn't too much work (comparatively) they need to do to get it finished. That way, they had more time and resources to invest in the rest of the season.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I remember before they released the animatics for Bad Batch they were very excited about it and seemed very disappointed that the show was cancelled before people got to see it. So it’s possibly a pet project of theirs.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Bad Batch themselves ended up being part of the troops assigned to Ahsoka at Mandalore and they want to make sure people know who they are. Even with the animatics being released, they never ended up on home release like Crystal Crisis did, so people are less likely to have seen them.
Walkabout has her on 1313, but I believe the Sith temple was a different arc
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyIt was. The Walkabout is “what’s Ahsoka been doing since leaving?” The Sith Temple was “Ahsoka reconnects with Anakin.”
I figure they might try to place the Boba-Bane arc as a subplot in Mandalore, if they wanna converge all plotlines there.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I’m also still hoping they integrate some of the other stories into the arcs we have. But I’m not counting on it.
More likely to me is that we see more Clone Wars Legacy stuff come out after the final season. The reason it stopped is probably because of the revival.
I'm fine with this being the last season so long as they get that chance to wrap up all the plot threads. Was this sprung on them suddenly or did they have time to get done all the things they wanted to do?
Actually, now that I think about it, Resistance doesn't have a ton of plot threads going on outside of the main two or three.

The new season of Clone Wars will release in Feburary and it looks like we'll see Ahsoka vs Darth Maul[1]
Edited by ComicFan on Aug 23rd 2019 at 5:20:19 AM
I mean...that was assumed, no? Maul rules Mandalore. Ahsoka is the general leading the Siege of Mandalore.
2 + 2 = 4
It’s still disappointing we don’t get the Boba Fett/Cad Bane arc.
