-Ian stops racking his brain as to where he may have seen Malacostra before and smiles at Hoops to assure them that he'll always be a helping hand if they need one.-

Me: I thought you'd never ask, Hoops! Piku-chan! Get ready. Hoops wants to know if you and Kec can perform the Twinsteel Tail Strike together.

-Piku-chan fixes his fur as his strength comes back to him.-

Piku-chan: <You got it, buddy!>

-Piku-chan makes his tail glow with a metallic sheen as he approaches Kec.-

Piku-chan: <Ready, Kec?>

Kec's tail glows with the same metalic sheen as Piku-chan's. He reaches out and grabs the other pokemon's paws.

Striaton City, NYE

Kim: (turning to face Gilmour) "Alright, Gilmour. What moves do you have?"

Gilmour: <I have a vast variety of moves... but the ones I have currently... are Disable... Ancient Power... Hex... and Strength Sap...>

Kim: "Well, most of those moves won't do any good for now..." (She smirks.) "Except for one. Gilmour, use Hex!"

Gilmour: <As you wish...>

(Instantly, his eyes glow purple and red, and his branches glow with purple energy, before that energy coalesces into a giant purple-and-red eye. The eye then releases multiple dark blue rings of energy directly towards Oshawittle.)

Motostoke Stadium

(Kim and Kabu promptly stare at each other, each one equally determined, before both of them take out a PokeBall.)

Kabu: "Well, Kim, you've defeated two of my Pokemon... are you ready to face down my third?"

Kim: "I certainly am."

Kabu: "Very well."

(And both of them throw their PokeBalls.)

Kabu: "Go, Centiskorch!"

Kim: "Red alert, Peechee!"

(The PokeBalls promptly open. From one of them emerges Peechee, who initially appears as goofy as ever— and then he realizes where he is.)

Peechee: (getting fired up) <Yes... YES—!>

(His eyes immediately start glowing red, and the other PokeBall opens, revealing a large Centiskorch, who roars towards the sky before glaring down at Peechee.)

Centiskorch: <So... you think you'll be able to defeat me?!>

Peechee: <DO I MESS I'LL BE ABLE TO OOBIVAT YOU?! Of course I will!>

Centiskorch: <I... have no idea what you just said.>

Peechee: <Of course you didn't! You can't pony me! Nobody can pony my Nadsat! But that's perfectly dobby! ^note  fine Because regardless, when this bitva is over...>

(He laughs.)

Peechee: <YOU'LL KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO BE SNUFFED BY MY OWN NOZH—!>

Centiskorch: <You're on. Assuming you even get the chance.>

Peechee: <Oh, I will. I WILL! I KOPAT THIS!>

Kabu: (holding up his PokeBall) "Alright, Centiskorch... let's show this Kingler what we're made of!"

(The Centiskorch nods. Kabu takes out his PokeBall and returns the Centiskorch, before the PokeBall starts to grow bigger and bigger. He throws the ball on the floor, and within seconds it opens, revealing his Centiskorch starting to grow bigger and bigger— and also starting to change his form. His body grows far longer, allowing for more and more legs to shoot out of his body, eventually reaching a total of 100 legs. The flames coming out of his head and telson- i.e. "tail"- also grow longer and larger, and the entire underside of his body suddenly flashes in a bright yellow color, subsequently turning yellow. Seconds later, the newly-Gigantamaxed Centiskorch lets out a powerful roar.)

-Oshawittle holds his scalchop in front of him and summons a shield of light that guards him against the dark Hex rings. He then casts the shield of light aside and draws his sword from his scalchop and slashing at Gilmour.-

Motostoke Stadium, Stands

-Ian and Evelyn watch the battle intently...-

Me: -telepathically to Evelyn- ~This is it...

Evelyn: -telepathically to Ian- ~Peechee VS Centiskorch...~

Me: -telepathically to Evelyn- ~If Kim wins this, the Fire Badge is as good as hers...~

Evelyn: -telepathically to Ian- ~Let's see how this battle turns out...~

Piku-chan: -cheering- <Go! Go! Let's go, Peechee!>

Hatty: -cheering- <You got this!>

(Gilmour gets thrown backwards, but gets back up quickly.)

Kim: "Gilmour! Are you okay?"

Gilmour: <I am fine... thankfully that was not the vision I had seen of my death...>

Kim: "Good." (Her eyes suddenly glint with determination.) "Gilmour... use Disable!"

Gilmour: <Will do...>

(Gilmour's eyes glow light blue, causing Oshawittle to glow light blue as well and float up into the air.)

Motostoke Gym Battle

(Kim looks up at the Gigantamax Centiskorch in awe, before turning to face Peechee.)

Kim: "Peechee... are you ready?"

Peechee: (nods)

Kim: "Good."

(And with that said, she takes out her PokeBall and returns Peechee. Seconds later, she throws it onto the ground— but what happens next surprises everyone on the battlefield and in the stands. The ball opens, and Peechee's form begins to grow bigger and bigger— but his eyes also flash a bright red as multiple foam bubbles emerge from his face, eventually forming a long white beard. His legs and arms grow far longer and gain more spikes on them, and while his right pincer grows larger, his left pincer grows even larger, both of them eventually gaining a white lower half. Inside both of the pincers, a white slice of armor grows to cover the openings, and the claws on his legs straighten out and turn orange. Within seconds, Peechee brandishes his new pincers menacingly, and cries out:)

Gigantamax!Peechee: <I... WILL... END YOU—!!>

(Kim, Kabu, and the Centiskorch all look up at Peechee in shock.)

Kim: (stunned) "I don't believe it..."

Kabu: "He... he Gigantamaxed..."

(His eyes glow green, and multiple vines come out of the ground, wrapping around Oshawittle, which lowers his Attack stat. Seconds later, the vines wrap around Gilmour, regaining his strength.)

(Kim pauses and looks up at Peechee in utter disbelief, stunned by what she has just witnessed.)

Kim: "How were you able to Gigantimax?!"

Peechee: <I'll govoreet ^note  tell you after the bitva! For now...> (He turns to face the Centiskorch.) <I'VE GOT A CENTISKORCH TO SHIVE ^note  slice APART!>

Kim: "Well. This should be fun."

(By this point, Ozzy has been hiding in the shadows, routinely continuing to scratch his claws on the post as he stares down at the fight between Ian, Hoops, and Malacostra. He takes particular note of her Kingler and Crawdaunt, muttering to himself.)

Ozzy: (muttering to himself) <Well... this is rather disconcerting... they do not appear to be having a good fight... Fortunately, I feel as though I've raised my attack high enough.''>

(Ozzy smirks.)

Ozzy: <They'll never see it coming.>

(Seconds later, his entire body glows dark black, and he charges directly at the crustacean Pokemon, hitting them all with an immensely strong Power Trip.)

Ozzy: <HEATHENS—!!>

Kec begins to run in the same direction as Piku-chan.

He uses Piku-chan to help him build up speed, and his glowing tail begins to blur with speed.

Hoops stares at the battlefield in awe.

Sokar is a ghost. His typing allows him to make nonsense of even this boosted move. He was not going to waste his advantage, especially since he was aware that pories are relatively easy to upgrade. What are the odds that they knew a ghost or dark-type move? Sokar accumulated more energy to fire a shockwave and discharge at the trio.

The problem with pories roots from their very advantage. Nonliving programs couldn't self-correct or change course when an error is in their way. A porygon, a living being, had all the advantages of knowing programming code and knowing its limits.They know when to recognize an error and work around it, faster and more effectively than a human or a program algorithm.

But being alive meant that they had exploits that their organic counterparts had. They had an attention span and a protocol that favored survival. They could direct bandwidth and memory away from what they were doing before.

For the expert lock picker Ma'at, this was an opportunity. While the other porygon were distracted, she scanned for exploits now left unaddressed, poking holes and surreptitiously using passwords she social engineered out of the workers and keylogged days before this heist began.

Orochi Plaza, The Twelfth Floor

Outside, the automated responses of the robotic security system proceeded without a hitch. Even with its pories not paying attention, the luxray-shaped robots were able to disarm and neutralize several of the Ember grunts.

Orochi Plaza, The Fifth Floor

Malacostra: Amazing. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were J-Team material. Not very well liked, but always ready for a fight. You might just make tonight a lot more interesting.

Sebastian took the two hits and collapsed. However, Lawrence was still up and ready to fight. The Crawdaunt crunches down on Kec and Piku-Chan, one on each hand. The crabominable, still conscious, did as menacing a leer as it could muster.

Lawrence, of course felt the tackle not long after.

Malacostra: Ooooh. Way more interesting. It's nice to know that you like to use your advantages. Almost as interesting as taking a fight with Arachna-Guy, but even he only managed to do what you do with a handful of pokémon.

She hears a ding.

Malacostra: Oh, gurl, you have no idea what my designs are. These guys are useful, but that doesn't mean they're not repugnant. And it appears I've already gotten what I came here for.

Orochi Plaza, The Lobby

Suddenly the doors opened. A stuffy-looking policeman wearing a tall officer's hat and his entourage entered the building. Following them were, ahem, the protesters. The police were understaffed and the protesters decided to put aside their differences and come to their aid.

They appear to be looking for anyone caught in the crossfire. They walked in cautiously.

Constable Drumsturdy: Your lot better not cause a riot once here.

Protester Cabbie: You want your backup, you got your backup. Never look a gift blitzle in the mouth.

Drumsturdy grunted.

Protester Cabbie: Now, remember what Officer Kevin said. This building has an experimental security system. We could, like, end up triggering it even more, so try not to go overboard.

Constable Drumsturdy: I hear you loud and clear, chap. Could make it a lot easier for us.Keep that hot blooded rabble-rousing to an appropriate minimum and we should be fine.

Protester Cabbie: Easy for you to say.

Constable Drumsturdy: Oi, is anyone around here?!

After a few moments, Travis would stop helping out assuming the sand castle was finished, or at the very least built up well enough. "Not a bad job if I say so myself, I wonder what other cool things you guys can build," Travis says, fists on his sides looking at the sand castle in front of him. Unlike her trainer, Tricky notices the shiny rock and tilts her said a bit. So you're king of the castle now huh? He questions.

-Agnes is in the stands with Ori, the latter in Pom-pom style, cheering along with the crowd-

Kim: "No. I refuse to allow it to." (then, after a pause) "Do you, by any chance, know Confuse Ray?"

Gilmour: <Oh yes... I do know that move...>

Kim: "Very well, then. Gilmour, you know what to do."

Gilmour: <Indeed...>

(His eyes open wide, and pink circles of energy are sent out from them in Oshawittle's direction. They hit him.)

(Kabu stares in utter disbelief at the Gigantamaxed Peechee for a few moments, before eventually shaking it off and pointing ahead.)

Kabu: "Well. That is certainly impressive... but I won't let a new development interfere with taking your Kingler down! Centiskorch... hit him with a G-Max Centiferno!"

Gigantimax!Centiskorch: <GLADLY!>

(And with that said, the giant Centiskorch coils up. His entire body glows a bright yellow, and a fireball coalesces in front of him. Seconds later, the fireball heads straight toward Peechee, whose eyes are glowing red with sheer rage.)

Peechee: <DO YOU REALLY MESS YOU CAN BROSAY ^note  throw THAT FIREBALL AT ME—?!>

(And with that said, he throws his pincer out in front of the large fireball, attempting to pinch it to bits— but it doesn't work, as seconds later, the fireball ends up exploding in his face and releasing five fiery tendons that bind Peechee. Seconds later, they glow brightly as they suck Peechee's energy from him, and the Gigantimaxed Kingler growls in pain.)

Gigantimax!Centiskorch: (laughing) <You shouldn't have gotten cocky there, you incomprehensible Kingler.>

Peechee: <INCOMPREHENSIBLE?!?!>

(Meanwhile, the Litwick is still watching.)

Litwick: <Ah. This is a little amusing.>

(He giggles.)

Orochi Plaza, The Lobby

(Kim, Gilmour, and Peechee all turn to face the cop.)

Kim: "Indeed. My Pokemon and I are down here fighting several Team Flare grunts. Well, Ozzy flew to the fifth floor... I wonder where he is..."

(And seconds later, Ozzy flies in.)

Ozzy: <Why, I was merely defending Ian and Hoops from those absolute heathens. It is good to see you again, Kimberly.>

(At which point he notices the cops in front of him.)

Ozzy: <Greetings, constables! I presume that you are here to pick us up and rescue us from these incoherent blabblers?>

(Kim pauses for a few moments, then translates.)

Kim: "Just in case, he said-" (then switching to a more sophisticated-sounding, British-accented voice not unlike Ozzy's) "'Greetings, constables! I presume that you are here to pick us up and rescue us from these incoherent blabblers?'"

Ozzy: (chuckling) <Rather amusing, Kimberly.>

Kim: "Thank you, Ozzy."

-Ian checks his Pokédex to see what it says about Kingler and its signature G-Max Move.-

Pokédex: Kingler, the Pincer Pokémon, and the evolved form of Krabby. A Water type. Kingler's larger pincer has immensely powerful crushing strength, but because of its weight, it is difficult to aim. It is said to be capable of prying open Shellder and Cloyster shells using its 10,000-horsepower pincer.

G-Max Foam Burst: A Water type move. This move can only be used by G-Max Kingler. When used, Kingler unleashes a powerful burst of water that harshly lowers its target's speed.

Scratch stared out over the casino as the Demmadome party rolled in, they had been quite lucrative, though he had his suspicions of the party before him. Still, whatever they did, they were facing against an entire army and a professional hunter. One that was in the top 10, quickly approaching the Big 3...

Scratch leaned back and dreamed of the power that would come with that. The Big 3 held so much influence over the Guild decisions, too much in his book. He'd probably let Sphinx stay, the man seemed to have informants everywhere, and J was pretty scary... but Delta.

He laughed, Delta was an old man and a former champion, who clung to his beloved charizard a bit too closely. He needed to learn to move forward in life.

Arthur just smirked and gave Gale a thumbs up, "I can get that. I'm going on this venture to really get beyond Earth, plus I'm bringing the Slayer armor."

He held up the Catalyst hilt, and ignited the blade, "And this of course..."

Hayden turned his head towards Gale, "It seems he is taking to the idea of being the Undying Slayer."

-There, the opening. Information, while the MASH installed to the building is too ingrained into the systems to be ripped out and pirated there is a backup of the installation code just hanging around in a hard drive in a safe with a motorized interlock on the tenth floor... Of course, while this is happening the three Porygon continue attempting (and mostly failing) to properly have a Pokemon battle in cyberspace-

-Maybe they're more familiar with attacking code or other Porygon?-

Swordlike Woman: Well it still doesn't look good to be seen invading a building with a bunch of— yaknow~ Especially with you-know-who watching.

-She makes a brief sound like a chittering spider-

Swordlike Woman: Unfortunately there's some new visitors in the lobby, I gotta handle it.

-With a wink and a smile the tour guide slips off the broomstick, falling the five floors to the Underwriting Room below-

-Gale laughs softly-

-Evelyn feels her heart leaping out of her chest as she watches the Swordlike Woman jump off her broom and fall.-

Evelyn: NO!

-Evelyn reaches out her hand as her eyes begin to glow blue, releasing a strong telekinetic force that surrounds the Swordlike Woman. Using that force, Evelyn attempts to lower the tour guide gently to the ground. At this sudden reaction, Ian quickly turns around.-

Me: Evelyn, what's wrong?

Hatty: <If only you'd seen it...>

Me: Hatty... pardon my asking, but have Evelyn's eyes always glowed like that?

-Emilie steps out of the bathroom, wearing her Belladonna costume and tutu under her normal clothes. She throws her duffel bag over her arm, grabs a spray bottle and cloth and gets to work.-

Emilie: -thinking to herself- Best take Urie's warning to heart when cleaning up the casino for the patrons... Hopefully, I don't run into TOO much trouble...

-The tour guide is actually a little surprised to be levitated safely to the ground and gives a glance upwards-

Swordlike Woman: Had it handled, but thank you! Have fun with the Flare lot!

-She shoots a wink up before stepping into the lobby-

Swordlike Woman: Greetings, welcome to Orochi Plaza. How may I address your business today?

Brimstone Casino, Heist Day

-Rhea Zariel stepped out of the limo first, as elegant and cheerful as always. Her yellow Phanpy wasn't by her side today, but it didn't seem to impact her mood much as she waited for the rest of her party to gather up-

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Orochi Plaza Cyberspace

Ma'at finds the data. While the size of the program is too big too copy directly for a program like her, she found enough data on her own to get an idea of how to work the system itself. And she found where she could get the actual system.

But there was one problem.

Ma'at: <Playtime's over, Sokar. I found where they're keeping the program.>

Sokar: <Lemme guess? Analog?>

Ma'at: <You know what to do. Here are the coordinates.>

Sokar: <I thought you'd never ask.>

Meanwhile, in the ensuing chaos, Ma'at managed to isolate a Luxraybot roaming the floor. Opportunity knocks.

Orochi Plaza, ground floor

The protesting cabbie was still holding his placard. The copper tipped his helmet.

Constable Drumsturdy: Constable Drumsturdy, ma'am. Wyndon police. We're here to talk about your little problem with the Flaresies running about. Though we didn't have a lot of backup so I had to cut a deal with these chaps.

Cabbie, in a recognizably Angelan accent: Hi, My name's Lou. I'm with the International Cab Operator's Union.

Constable Drumsturdy: Don't ask. It was complicated enough to try to get into the door.

Cabbie Lou: How would you like your Flaresie? At the kisser, the gut, or the sensitive spot?

The constable turns to Maya.

Constable Drumsturdy: Best be on your way, young one. Things are about to get intense.

Cabbie Lou: Come to think of it, what happened here? Could either of you tell us what's going on?

Constable Drumsturdy: I'm with him. What in the bloody hell just took place? Why is everything wet? Why are there dents on the floor? Why is Father Christmas smoking? Why are these couches hideous?

Cabbie Lou: I dunno. They seem to be leaning avant-garde. It suits the building. The ekans pulling Santa's sleigh is a bold design choice.

Fifth Floor

Lawrence lets go of his captives and falls unconscious. Suddenly, Malacostra called back all of her roster. Something was up.

Malacostra: Pffft. No matter. We've got what we came for.

She heads to the lobby and fires a grappling hook high into the ceiling. From a distance, the crashing sound of breaking glass is heard from a few floors up.

Malacostra puts down her hostage gently.

Malacostra: Well, it looks like you're free to go, handsome. Stay pretty.

She turns to Hoops, with a cocky look on her face. All the while, she presses a few buttons on an interface in her armor's arm guards.

Malacostra: That was fun. You J-Teamers are good, but you're not that good.

That last line may not have been meant for Hoops specifically, but it certainly sounded like it was.

And with that she jumps up and zip lines into the sky. Rocket packs in her armor seem to boost the effect further.

Upstairs, amid the confusion caused by the Luxraybots, the other crabmons followed. Up the stairs, a large chopper was waiting on the wings.
