Hoops quietly stands up and turns to their pokemon. "It's our turn next," they say. "So let's win it."

They all nod. Then Hoops cracks a smile. "Still that was pretty great. When they come back, everyone give them a big cheer."

Motostoke Stadium (pre-Betrayal)

(Delighted by the win, Geddy and Peechee happily jump out of their seats and start loudly cheering.)

Geddy: <That was amazing! I'm so happy for them!>

Peechee: (raising his pincer in the air) <YES—!! FINALLY—!! POBEDA—-!!!>

(Kim smiles.)

Kim: "Exactly as I thought. Of course, we'll have to be patient in the meantime before our battle begins— Hoops has to go next, after all."

Geddy: (nods) <Right.>

Betrayalplot, Oh Slinger Mine

(Kim picks up the photograph from the floor and doesn't say a word, instead frantically looking around for the rest of the group and heading towards the east.)

Orbito: <I calculate a 50% chance that he'll be feeling that in the morning...>

Motostoke Stadium, Post-Kabu Battle

-The Galar Particle-laden aura fades from Piku-chan and Hatty, causing them to shrink back down to their normal size. The swirling storm of Dynamax Energy that once hovered over the battlefield disperses, and the sun shines as brightly as it once did.-

Evelyn and I: We did it! We did it! Yatta! Yatta!

-Kabu calls his Centiskorch back to its Poké Ball.-

Kabu: You two are the most impressive challengers I have met so far. The way you coordinate your battles together... It's like you two always know what the other is thinking.

-Ian and Evelyn stand back-to-back and rap the sides of their heads with their knuckles while sticking their tongues out and winking.-

Evelyn and I: You could say that...

Kabu: Well, whatever it is, I commend you for putting on such a show for the audience as well as myself. Since you both managed to defeat me, I want you to take this... It's the Fire Badge.

-Ian, Evelyn and Kabu shake hands, with Kabu handing Ian and Evelyn the Fire Badge.-

Evelyn and I: YATTA! WE GOT THE FIRE BADGE!

-So the main thing to note here is that aside from a couple of notable exceptions that have yet to turn up, the doors in this house are merely closed rather than locked. Which is important as the door flies open on impact sending Tommy and Fred crashing into a much less fancy bedroom set up for two people and likely crash straight into the floor-

-While on the floor, two things can be noted: The footprints that led up to the door don't continue on the other side (almost as if this door went elsewhere a few minutes ago) and also there's a smokey glass o r b laying on the floor too-

-There's the cry of a Corvi or Krow from somewhere a little distant. This room has exits on all four walls-

Tommy and Jane have entered the Servant's Quarters and obtained the Crystal Ball! The Haunt didn't happen.

Spoopy House, Oh Secret-Finder Mine

-Colton is able to find the switch and open the secret doorway that leads to a large room with a spiral staircase in the center. By your reckoning this room is directly north of the theater you went through. Regardless, there's only one doorway that isn't open and it leads north... Straight into a metal chute covered in carbon stains-

-We'll get back to where that slippery slope leads later-

Colton entered the Coal Chute!

Spoopy House, Oh Eastward Mine

-Kim exits from the abandoned room into an equally disused but much messier room. Your friends aren't here but there is a friend here-

-There's a scruffy but very happy-looking Herdier in this room and he seems incredibly friendly! There's a fairly loud cry of a Krow, but wherever it is it's probably a few rooms away-

Kim entered the Junk Room and obtained the Dog! The Haunt didn't happen.

Spoopy House, Oh Basement Gang Mine

-Okay now we can talk about the basement friends-

Yeah, under a different set of identities... I'm still unsure how I feel about that period of time back when Mobius was around...

-It's fairly easy to find some simple bandages in the medical kit and patch up Gale. It's not much, but it'll help. Also someone else arrives as Colton slides down the coal chute and ends up here in the basement with the others. Thankfully, sliding down a coal chute causes less injury than being in a crashing elevator and he's unharmed-

Something Not Spooky, Gale Knight Doing A Recon

-In a startling turn of events, Gale is not streaming right now. She's out taking a walk along a Route and looking for a private spot to take in the sights... And also get out a coin from her pocket-

Wish I had someone to talk to.

-She flips the coin into the air and smiles when it fails to come back down-

Spooky Basement

Some combination of a roar and growl sounds throughout the basement - and possibly house - as Colton falls to the floor below, his costume's divine appearance adopting a look of worry via a dropping tail and splayed ears. He lands smoothly and dusts himself off with a quick gust of illusory wind.

"That could have gone better," he decided. "Oh. Fancy seeing you down here."

(Kim turns to Peechee and Geddy and stands up out of her seat.)

Kim: "Well. That was lots of fun... should we get going?"

Geddy: <Yeah, I think so.>

Kim: (nods) "Very well, then."

(And with that said, Kim, Geddy, and Peechee leave the stadium.)

Motostoke Gym Entrance Room, Post-Ian's Battle (Pre-Betrayalplot)

(Kim, Geddy, and Peechee enter the lobby.)

Oh Eastward Mine

(The second she sees the adorable Herdier that is in front of her, Kim starts gushing and runs over to him.)

Kim: (gushing) "Oh my word, he's adorable~! Hello, cute Herdier~!"

(The friendly Herdier- who has Blinding Bangs- happily wags his tail and starts jumping up and down.)

Herdier: <Hello there! Are you a Trainer?>

Kim: "Yes, I am a Trainer! Hi there~!" (then, almost immediately switching back to her regular persona) "Are you by any chance willing to lead me to where my friends are? I am getting terrified, as I have found a gun and I do not know what it means."

Herdier: <Oh sure! I can lead you to your friends!>

(Kim breaths a sigh of relief.)

Kim: "Oh... thank you adorable Herdier."

Herdier: <You're welcome~!>

(And with that, the Herdier starts happily leading Kim out of the room and towards the basement, sniffing the ground all the while.)

There was a murmoring among the crowd, the auditorium space was rarely used... and even rarer was it to see all 300 Hunters gathered in one space... well 287, a few Hunters were missing. Quite a few Admins were there as well, and they usually didn't make any direct interactions save to update Hunters on new jobs. Many were wondering what was going on, then a marching noise was heard, everyone turned their attention to the stage and saw Delta standing there.

"Many of you may be wondering why you have been called here," Delta began, "This is entirely understandable as any meeting of us hunters is a rare event."

J stepped onto the stage, grinning, and then a screen clicked on and a few could make out the form of Sphinx... the big 3 had an announcement to make.

"The Council has opted to adjust our list of approved hunts, no we are not opening up the Blacklisted Mons as some of you may be hoping," Delta continued, his voice projecting across the entire room.

"Starting today we are now adding a new target to our list, many of you may have experience dealing with them... and some of you may notice that a few of our fellows aren't here. They have been... retired for dealings involving this group."

J pressed a button on her right gauntlet and a screen next to Sphinx appeared, detailing a list of notable names in a company called Pokefutures, "The Guild is now opening Bounty contracts," she explained.

The crowd started to talk, hunting humans was not something the guild did, they collected pokemon and pokemon adjacent items.

"Pokefutures continues to be an issue," J continued, "Some of you may be thinking about taking on a contract with them but they are blacklisted for a reason, and a recent revelation that they were still receiving funding in Angela has caused us to rethink just the blacklist policy. We have decided to take a more active role."

Delta nodded, "We will have free-roaming contracts on Pokefutures personnel, you are free to take them and capture them. The conditions for these contracts however is that the captured subject must be taken in alive, I understand that bounty hunting is a complicated profession. However they are to be taken alive and dropped off at select points for them to be arrested by Interpol, our plants will keep us appraised of the updated roster."

Delta looked across the crowd and then asked, "Any questions?"

Arthur and Victor blinked at each other before looking back to Jess, Violet, and Robin.

"And you might be?" Victor asked.

Arthur was scratching his head (or helmet in this case) trying to figure out if he had met them before.

Phineas: I used to be responsible for overseeing experimental cyborgs. The idea was to "build a better pokémon, though obviously that didn't pan out well in this part of the globe. I wasn't responsible for this one. Someone else placed those parts on them.

Ba'al, still projecting as a human in a costume: Among other things.

Phineas: Drop the pretense, Ba'al.

Immediately, Ba'al became a Zoroark again.

Phineas: All of it.

The rest of Upton's Pokémon save for the ditto turn out to be cyborgs.

Ba'al, still appearing to speak Galarian: What else are we telling her?

Phineas: Might as well come clean. We're fallers.

Motostoke Stadium, Post-Kabu Battle

Kabu: And one more thing... I want to give you this.

-Kabu hands Ian and Evelyn a red-colored disklike device.-

-Ian and Evelyn obtained TM Will-O-Wisp!-
Kabu: That is the TM for Will-O-Wisp. It's a Fire-type move that burns the opponent. A good number of Pokémon are capable of using this move. Most of them are Fire and Ghost types.

-Beat-

Kabu: Sō ieba, Rarutosu ni kanren suru pokemon mo kono ugoki o riyō suru koto ga dekimasu.^Translation  Come to think of it, Pokémon related to Ralts are also capable of using this move.

-Evelyn bows with respect to Kabu.-

Evelyn: Arigato, Kabu-sama.^Translation Thank you, Kabu.

-Kabu bows back to Evelyn.-

Kabu: Dōitashimashite.^Translation You're welcome.

-Beat-

Kabu: So that's your third badge in Galar. I'm impressed. If you two are looking for where to go next in your Gym Challenge, then Stow-On-Side is your best bet, but be warned. If you're looking for Double Trouble, you're BOUND to find it there...

Me: Thank you so much for the battle, Mr. Kabu.

Evelyn: Yes. Thank you.

-Ian and Evelyn smile at Kabu before stepping off the pitch.-

Been a while. Been busy but resuming my solopost story. Last post is here.

Johto, Goldenrod City, Past

Will: Dart, Bide!

Dart the Nuzleaf looks at his opponent, a Golisopod with what looked like what could be a crack in the carapace of one arm, if it weren't disguised to look healthy, and grins. Dart is beaten and battered, despite having only just entered the battle, but one wouldn't know it looking at his demeanor. Golisopod is also heavily damaged, and doesn't look nearly as spry as Dart. Directly above them is a bright light, a Sunny Day left behind by Moka earlier in the battle.

Across from Will stands a boy several years older in the uniform of Wyndon Academy, with patches marking him as an upperclassman and elite. He can only laugh.

"What's this? That little Nuzleaf can't take so much as a Tackle, what's he going to Bide against?"

Will responds with a grin, but not the manic grin he displays when engaged in battle, but a more predatory showing of teeth. Dart responds by rushing forward and throwing a punch that somehow manages to completely floor the Golisopod.

Will: He's got every bit of damage he took last night, and all the pain of Biding that for more than twelve hours.

The referee watches the Golisopod for several moments before declaring it unable to battle. In the gap between Will's opponent withdrawing Golisopod and calling his next Pokemon, Dart has begun Synthesizing and finally recovering the damage he'd taken. Just as he finishes, the Sunny Day fades.

Galar, Route 5; Will & Fuka vs Curtis & Annabelle

Will: Dart, Bide!

Annabelle: Flamethrower!

The words barely leave Will's mouth before the Nuzleaf begins glowing white with energy. Rather than firing it outward, as is typical of Bide, it turns inward, covering Dart's body. With an agility he shouldn't have due to Gastro Acid's effects, Dart shoots forward and plants a kick directly into Braixen's stomach. As Dart does so, the white energy fades from his lower body.

The Braixen breathes in, beginning a Flamethrower, but before it can proceed an uppercut from Dart hits dead on the chin. The flamethrower fires straight upward, and as Braixen recovers and again turns to face Dart, it gets another punch in the face. This one sends the Braixen flying onto its back.

The Braixen's stick lands a meter away from it. The Pokemon does not get back up.

Annabelle: Impossible…

Curtis looks surprised too, but takes the loss more calmly.

Curtis: I suppose he isn't the headmistress's son for nothing.

Will frowns at those words.

Johto, Goldenrod City, Past

Will's opponent looks shocked at how he managed to defeat the Golisopod.

"That was the headmistr-"

He catches himself before finishing the sentence.

"I guess you aren't the headmistress's son for nothing."

Will frowns.

Will: You're wrong.

"Wrong? What do-"

Will: I am the son of the Wild Fearow!

As Will says the words, he throws his arms out wide and his frown becomes a smile.

Will: My name is Will Rubens! And I've already decided who's winning this battle!

In the stands, Fuka stands there, mouth agape.

Fuka: Will...

In a private box, Victoria Laurel is frowning at the battle. Will's proclamation has not gone well with her. She brings a Rotom phone up to her mouth and speaks into it.

Victoria: No more holding back.

She sets the phone back down and resumes watching the battle. Will's opponent gives a nod at apparently nothing, and prepares his next Pokemon.

In a home in Sinnoh, Suzie Rubens, prompted by Fuka, is watching the tournament in Johto. She's sitting in stunned silence after Will's declaring himself the son of the Wild Fearow. Next to her Sami and her husband Charlie, a large man with dark hair, looks at her in concern.

Charlie: Suzie? Suzie are you-

Suzie: Atta-boy, Will!

Husband and Pokemon alike jump back in surprise as Suzie's suddenly boisterous reaction takes them off-guard. She's begun whooping and hollering, gesturing and waving her arms with such force it threatens to tip over her wheelchair.

Suzie: You tell them what's what, kiddo! Make Momma proud!

Sami and Charlie grab Suzie's chair and hold it down, but Charlie can't help smiling as he does.

Robin: ~I am of course Robin, the tea loving master thief.~

-Jess sighs.-

Jess: Self proclaimed.

Violet: I'm Violet.

Jess: I'm Jess, I guess.

-Copper notices Upton and floats over.-

Copper: <Hey, you look familiar. Didn't you get robbed in Circhester?>

Sergey and his team can be seen currently celebrating. The Pokémon all had baked a cake for him and now, they were sitting around the camp, balloons were floating around and a small pile of presents was nearby as well.

The Haunted House

Tommy and Fred fall over. Fred manages to narrowly escape making contact with the floor. Tommy hits it with a thud.

Jane: Tommy, are you okay?

Fred: ~He's not injured if that's what you're asking.~

Tommy: I'm fine.

Fred: ~Again, in the sense that he's not injured.~

Tommy recovers and stands up, noticing the object nearby. He picks it up.

Jane: Oooh. Nice. A crystal ball. Think we should hold onto it. It might be useful.

Fred: ~I've a feeling it would.~

Tommy: Where to next?

Jane: I say we press on. Where's the direction you two feel less uncomfortable around?

Tommy: I'm not feeling any of these doors much.

Fred: ~Me, neither.~

Jane: Let's go east. That way.

Motostoke Party

Upton: Oh, hey there. Is your trainer around?

Jane: Who's this?

Upton: Oh, this fella here knows who I'm looking for. Truth be told, I was just going to give their number to Mr. Grant but this is so much better.

He turns to Copper.

Upton: Is Jess here?

Spooky House, Oh Explorers Mine

-Heading east, Tommy and Jane and their respective companions arrive in a room that seems to have been the site of a pretty intense fire. The walls are covered in black charring and soot and the only actual object in the room is... A skull. There's doorways once again leading out in every direction-

-There's that crowing again, the noise of a bird echoing through the room but nothing happens-

Tommy and Jane obtained the Skull. The haunt didn't happen.

Spooky House, Oh Dog Friend Mine

-The Herdier leads Kim back to the Menagerie and then downwards in a dumbwaiter-

Spooky House. Oh, Basement

Yeah, hi.

-Gale's about to say something else before Kim and the Herdier turn up in the basement landing using a dumbwaiter. However the controls for such are jammed at this end-

Okay so almost all of us are down here and there's no obvious way back up. Frig it, I'm gonna go exploring, see if I can find us a way out of here...

-Gale heads off west, which everyone in the landing can see is a wine cellar. As she checks over the room Gale plucks up a few sticks of chalk sitting on one of the barrels-

Gale has obtained the Chalk.

-Hey yaknow, a certain character of mine is here and he gets a pretty decent smirk on his face (under his mask) hearing of this little hunt for Pokefutures alumni. This was going to be fun, people were a much more technologically interesting target after all-

-Ian notices Colton coming down the Coal Chute and waves hello to him.-

Me: Hey, Colton. Y'know, there was a pun I could make for when you came in, but I think I already used it for Ms. Knight.

Evelyn: Regardless, Colton. Are you hurt any?

"I'm Arthur and he's Victor," Arthur responded.

Victor gave a curt wave before levitating a glass of punch over to him, taking a sip and sighing, "Just juice. No liquor."

"We're at a public party..." Arthur sighed.

Jackal marched up to an isolated shed, Hayon at his side.

"First the Angelan senators, then the Rebels setup, now this," Jackal commented.

~Means you're making progress, this shed is pretty open though.~

Jackal tapped his comm unit and spoke to Nightingale, "Clear enough view up there?"

The pen appeared beside Gale on the hillside, grinning as per usual but having replaced the sweatpants and hoodie for a tux and martini. Well friend you're really engaging in spy work now. How long before your saving the world from a man with metal hands and a nuclear arsenal while getting the girl in the skimpy swimsuits? It laughed.

I've adjusted the Gaster construct more seriously, you should be able to see inside no problem and if trouble arises, well we can handle that.

A thin snouted gaster skull appeared before Gale as the Pen vanished from Nightingale's view.

"Hope we're ready for this," Jackal commented as he looked at the shed.

Spooky Basement

"Not really," he said, looking up at the chute he fell from. "More annoyed, than anything else. A mistake on my end and I fall to the floor below. Unhurt, yes, but I wasn't done exploring." As he says this he dusts some coal dust off himself, the black powder having stained his costume. "A right shame the spiral staircase one floor above doesn't come down here."

Hoops emerges from the waiting room into the stadium lobby and sees Ian and Evelyn talking to Kim.

"Ian! Evelyn! That was awesome, guys! Congrats."

-Copper looks around.-

Copper: <Yup, I see them! Follow me!>

-Copper flies over to Violet and Jess.-

Robin: ~Pleased to meet you. I wonder if this party has any tea?~

-Jess notices Copper.-

Jess: You're Violet's Chimecho, right?

Violet: Yeah.

Copper: <That guy with the electricity powers who got robbed by those people is here!>

Jane picks up the skull with a dramatic flourish.

Jane: Alas, poor Yorick. I knew him... in Unova. A fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath borne me on his back a thousand times! And now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rims at it.

Tommy and Fred clap while Drake jumps up and down all happy-like. She bows with a flourish.

Jane: Now, exit, stage left.

Tommy: We'll follow your lead.

Jane: See, this is why you should just go ahead and embrace the extra. Being over-the-top and theatrical can be so much fun.

Peechee: <You completely vredded Kabu's Pokemon to the ground! Just as I messed ^note  thought you would!>

Kim: "Yes. You did indeed 'rock', as you put it." (She turns to Hoops.) "I don't suppose you're ready to go next?"

Oh Basement Gang Mine (post-Motostoke)

(Kim almost immediately notices Ian, Evelyn, and Colton standing there and runs over to them in a state of panic.)

Kim: "Oh thank god— I finally found you— I was looking all over for you and then found this adorable Herdier who lead me to you— something very strange is happening and I am pretty certain that I have been hit with a terrible omen—"

Herdier: (tilts his head in confusion) <What is an "omen"?>

Slumbering Weald (pre-Motostoke)

(And at that exact, precise moment, the angry Scorbunny wakes up- and turns directly towards Gail and Pandora, before jumping up into the air and attacking both of them. Geddy, Freddie, Elton, and Kim all notice and look on in horror.)

Kim: (horrified) "FIRIEN—!"

Geddy: (just as horrified) <Oh no...>

-There's a faint shimmer in the air, before a figure in full costume appears next to Jackal with a faint puff of purplish smoke.-

Gaia: I believe we've taken adequate precautions. Unless there somehow happens to be a Heatran hiding in that shed, in which case we probably have bigger problems than the integrity of our sources.

Trans rights are human rights. JK Rowling preaches hate. If you sit at a table with five bigots and say nothing, there are now six bigots.

Killer Bun Battle

With little more warning than Gail's name being shouted every Pokemon she has takes to the field.

Ignacio appeared first, gripping the Scorbunny by the ears before slamming them to the ground, throwing them to the sky where Vatista then scraped the bun with Steel Wing, knocking him into a combined Flare Blitz and Brave Bird from Sierra and Jamie before Pandora fired off one last Dazzling Gleam at the airborne rabbit.
