-Gale tenses up several times during the arrival and actions of Upton. Firstly when he turns up, then when he flickers like a glitch, again when Gale hears the Rotom speak and finally when she spots the symbol on the harness-

-She's got a quick mind-

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Silas backed up a bit, "It can see us?" He hissed at the rest of the team, a bit of worry in his voice.

You can see it, it can see you, not that hard.

Silas stared at Upton, it was pretty clear what he was thinking, he looked to Gale, to Des, and then to Upton.

"Stay here for now, we'll deal with you in a bit."

He turned to everyone else, "We'll ransack the kitchen, and head out to the ruins, we're going to have a long journey ahead of us."

Henderson grinned, "I will lead you to there, I have a carriage to take you brave heroes on to your first stop, as well as the supplies you will need."

Silas nodded, and picked up his helmet, brushing the faceplate a bit, he let out a sigh, "Alright, let's go."

Paige Manor

That stare-off, coupled with the Phineas' uneasiness around the Master of the Paige House and his companions, was not the most comforting thing for Upton. There was an ominousness with the phrase "we'll deal with you in a bit."

Upton: Yes sir.

Kamon, however, was a bit less ambiguous. Upton never forgets a face, no matter how high up it might be. Birds have really good eyesight.

Upton: Hello sir. Um... uh... Have we met before?

Phineas stayed silent. While initially curious, he eventually realized what was going on. Although there wasn't a lot of details to confirm anything, they may be involved with the organization he contacted to take care of the other version of himself (and the ones who currently have custody of this universe's version of his corpse). Incidentally, it was the same organization that his evil self was trying to break into.

As for Kamon, he may have been one of the people who attacked the Adonis in Wyndon. Obviously, it'd be imprudent for the both of them to comment on it.

Only a few types of pokémon can speak in human languages and that's usually through software. I mean, it's not unknown that they can pick up human languages. I heard something about people hearing a Meowth talk, but that's unsubstantiated and—

Beck: Breathe, Tom. Breathe.

The photographer gasps for breath. The rotom in the photographer's phone floats up.

Gimbal, via speech device: Don't be rude, honey. <to Clara> He's usually not like this. Kids these days, right?

Beck: You ain't kidding, boy. It's a talking gurdurr.

Gimbal: A *she*, to be precise.

The vikavolt beside Mr. Beckett, to everyone's surprise, can also talk.

Jules, via speech device: Okay, what's wrong with Pokémon who can talk in human? It's not like you haven't heard of that before.

Tommy: I've seen weirder things before.

Beck: You and I both, Petersen.

Beckett turns to Clara.

Beck: You don't happened to be a human who can transform into a Pokémon, are ya? Don't worry ma'am, your secret's safe with us.

Beat.

Beck: I suppose I need to explain that to you, Tom?

Tommy: Not really, no. I've been in the Stormchaser before, Mr. Beckett. I know the shenanigans that go on there.

Gimbal: Ahem.

Beck: Oh, excuse us. Where are our manners? My name's Sterling Beckett and this chatty beetle is Jules. We're with the Pokédex Extended Fileshare Endeavour.

Jules: A pleasure.

Tommy: And I'm Tommy Petersen. The bug on my head is Drake and the Kabuto climbing up my shoulders is Shinji. The Rotom is the ghost of my mother, Stephania. People call her Gimbal now.

Gimbal: Stephania Ditkovic. Nice to meet you.

Tommy: They just... let you attend school? The school boards back home are way more open minded than I thought.

Beck: Aren't you from Unova, too? The accent could've given it away.

Tommy: Yeah, I am. Clara, where in Unova are you from? I recognize the dialect as Unovan, but I can't quite put my finger on where.

Beck: A pokémon who is a pokémon trainer. Gotta admit, I haven't seen a lot of them about. Pokémon who can take human form and vice versa, though I am more than familiar with. I should know. I once worked for a family in Kalos that made it their habit to collect them.

Jules: Sterling, you're not thinking of telling her—

Beck: I gotta. Stay away from the Macraul family. If they perceive you to be something worth keeping, they will attempt to catch you.

Gimbal: You really want an answer to that question?

Halis stands there, trying to figure out what they're looking at with the red figure for a bit before it abruptly shows its form and attacks, which they ensure they're out of the way of having recognized it as a Poison Jab on sight.

Halis: <W-what is this thing? That's not normal in the slightest, even compared to everything else...>

They aren't sure what to do, and their allies' actions aren't helping their constant confusion.

Distortion World

-As it turns out, the Void Shadows' mimicry does extend to type effectiveness, and the Sacred Sword passes through harmlessly. However, the Shadow is successively struck by a Shadow Claw and a Shadow Ball, which manage to more than make up for the miss.-

-The others, as it turns out, don't have a lot to them. They attempt to divide again, but after the barrage of attacks aimed at them, the copies are little more than Obscuric wisps, which shrivel in the light of the Flash; only the Duolis imitator manages to stay intact, and attempts a Shadow Ball aimed at Duolis.-

-(We'll say Shiver, or possibly Sunder, was among the above mentioned barrage. Tagg's Aura indicates that they are not a Delta, instead merely having the one unconventional move for the species's typical movepool. However, one of the blades does have a faint corruptive, Glitchy essence to it.)-
