Kim: (pausing) "You know... we've been invited to a Battle of the Bands over there in Goldenrod, and we could use an instrumentalist. You play anything?"

Sentret: <Do I play anything? HA! Course I do! What, you didn't think that a Sentret who likes Frankie Sinatra's music wouldn't play an instrument?!>

Paul: <That's incredible! What do you play?>

Sentret: <The trumpet, what else?>

Kim: "The trumpet..." (she pauses) "Well, I'm sure I could find some way to fit a trumpet solo into the BOTB performance. And something for you to sing, of course."

Sentret: <Something for me to—?> (And then it hits him.) <Wait... you're not sayin'...?!>

Kim: "I sure am." (She smiles over at the Sentret, then takes out a PokeBall.) "How would you like to join our team... Sinatra?"

(The Sentret- now given the new moniker Sinatra- instantly lights up.)

Sinatra: <ARE YOU KIDDING?! JOIN YOUR TEAM?! This is the greatest day of my entire life! And I'm gettin' named after Ol' Blue Eyes himself; imagine that! COUNT ME IN!>

(And on those words, Kim grins and throws the PokeBall.)

Kim: "Well, alright then!"

(The PokeBall hits Sinatra on the head, and in an instant, his body dematerializes and he goes inside. The ball then hits the ground, and as everybody watches, it shakes three times— and then all of a sudden, the center glows, signifying capture.)

NEW POKEMON: SENTRET (MALE)

(Kim, seeing the center light up, picks up the ball in disbelief.)

Kim: (initially disbelieving it) "I... I did it..."

(And then the realization sets in, and a grin breaks out across her face.)

Kim: (delighted) "I DID IT! I CAUGHT MY FIRST POKEMON—!"

Paul: <Congratulations!>

(Excitedly squeeing, she takes out her Pokedex and scans the PokeBall for any new information. Within seconds, it appears:)

Kim: (thinking) "Hmm... let me write this all down..."

(She puts away the Pokedex and PokeBall and then takes out her pen and notebook, before flipping to the page with the comment about the performance. She promptly writes down:)

NEW POKEMON CAUGHT: SINATRA THE SENTRET. VERY CHARISMATIC. LIKES TO BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION. APPARENTLY HE HAS A STUBBORN STREAK, ACCORDING TO THE POKEDEX. THAT WOULD EXPLAIN HIS LOVE OF "MY WAY", THEN. WONDER IF HE KNOWS THAT TECHNICALLY, THAT SONG'S KALOSIAN. HE ALSO HAS A BROOKLYN ACCENT AND PLAYS THE TRUMPET. I WASN'T INTENDING TO HAVE A TRUMPET SOLO IN MY BATTLE OF THE BANDS PERFORMANCE, BUT I'M PRETTY SURE WE CAN FIT ONE IN THERE SOMEHOW. JUST GOTTA THINK OF A SONG THAT COULD WORK...

Fanatamax Battle, VS The Fanatic

Me: Raru, Miyako, Mothra, return for now.

-Ian calls Raru, Miyako and Mothra back to their Poké Balls. Then he, Piku-chan and Oshawittle jump into the air, where Ian places a psychic shield below them, which gets hit by the Max Steelspike attack, launching the three into the air-

Piku-chan: <Whoa! How did you know this was gonna work?>

Me: I didn't! Anways, Raru, you're needed!

-Ian opens Raru's Poké Ball-

Raru: <Whoa! That was awesome!>

Me: Now... Let's put that Max Lightning power you absorbed to good use, Piku-chan! Oshawittle... Raru... get ready...

-Oshawittle, Piku-chan and Raru nod-

Me: Piku-chan! Oshawittle! Raru! DELTA FORCE!!

-Piku-chan, Oshawittle and Raru surround The Fanatic in a triangular formation, Piku-chan sparkling with electrical energy, Oshawittle bursting with the energy of his Ice Beam and Raru surging with the Psychic energy of his Confusion. The three Pokémon form a Circle of Friendship as Piku-chan links his Electric energy through Oshawittle, Oshawittle links his Ice energy through Raru and Raru links his Psychic energy through Piku-chan, forming a triangular link as they unleash the pent-up energy in a vertical beam aiming at the Fanatic. The Beam glows in a bright gold, blue and pink color before dispersing and the three Pokémon float gently to the ground.-

Me: Makes sense as to why "Follow Me" is one of Sinatra's moves...

Kim: "Yep. Sure does." (she turns back) "Now, of course, the next step is to find a Gligar and then head off to Sinnoh..."

(And the instant she turns back, she soon finds herself face to face with that exact Pokemon, staring at her in the face and sticking its tongue out while hanging upside down.)

Gligar: <Excuse me!>

(Upon seeing the Gligar, Kim lets out a scream and steps back.)

Paul: (nonchalantly) <Well, speak of the devil! This is a pretty neat coincidence, isn't it?>

-Ian laughs at Kim's reaction to the suddenness of Gligar's appearance-

Cordell, Sgt. Sanchez's furret, is taking his weekly bath. He hums a familiar tune as his trainer and a little girl lather the shampoo and massage his fur.

Jean: The assignment basically means you become eligible to represent the Geographic Society in the Galar League; their league rules mean that all competitors must be sponsored. Dame Williams did decide that the organization will be drawing from multiple corners of the globe this year rather than choosing one of their own like last year, but the board hasn't finalized how we'd select the representative.

He grabs a glass of champagne.

Jean: As for your house, we can arrange for a housekeeping service to maintain the place in your absence. That, or I can select one of my family members to look after it for you.

Gligar: <Hello!> (he climbs down from the tree which he was hanging from) <I heard the entire Sinatra performance from clear up here, and I'll admit that it was pretty good, but it's not really my kind of music, if you know what I mean.> (he snickers) <I much prefer rock myself.>

(Kim suddenly blinks upon hearing those last words and stands back up.)

Kim: "Wait... classic rock?"

Gligar: <Oh, you know it~!>

(He promptly sticks out and waggles his tongue, causing both Kim and Paul to start giggling.)

Kim: "That's my favorite kind of music, too! Anything specific?"

Gligar: <Nothing much, really. Well, okay, there is this one artist whose name I can't remember who sang about a rainbow in the dark... and apparently he can also freeze time and lives in an underwater... coffin- okay, this is really getting weird. What kind of rock artist freezes time and lives in an underwater coffin...?>

Me: I dunno, but I have a funny feeling that wherever he plays, the weather forecast will be Sunny with a chance of falling steamrollers.

Christmas Eve, the Carrey

Fuka is eating some of the food at the feast. She's sitting between her Zangoose and Seviper, who glare at each other over her head. She breaks off bits of bread and gives them to each of the Pokemon.

Lucy: <Mine's bigger.>
Goosey: <No, mine is.>
Fuka: I made them exactly the same size.

Fuka gives two small pieces to each arm of her Binacle, and throws a big one overboard, where it's promptly snatched up by her Gyarados

Kim: (suddenly realizes) "Dio..."

(And with that realization, Kim instantly bursts out into laughter and falls onto the floor. Confused, the Gligar flies up to her.)

Gligar: <Hey! W-what's so funny?!>

The Carrey

Susan: I pride myself on my voice, yeah. Helps a lot with my job, though... Well I think I know something about your timeline...
Latias: Go on, say it

-Susan rolls her eyes and pouts-

(Kim promptly facepalms.)

Kim: “Dang it, you’re right. Thank you, Paul.” (She takes out her notebook.) “Kimberly Bond, lingual consultant. Delighted to meet you. The Butterfree is my partner, Paul.”

Gligar: <Oh! Hello, Kim! Hi, Paul! Aaaaaaand... who’s the random Pikachu whose name I don’t know?>

Silas smirked at the Geosoc comments, "Jackal and I actually have a agreement," he started, flexing his metal hand a bit, "I help him supply all the new superheroes and all. It's a busy job but he's thankful."

Roxy gave him a small kick under the table, she was having trouble not smiling at his comments.

To Colton he looked over, "Redundancy at the very least. Automation is good and all but I'd rather have people with experience and knowledge in areas where I know they can respond quickly should something go wrong. It's standard space operating procedure. I heard you have experience in coding so I felt it best to place you in electronic ops."

To Pent, "Well that's good, trust me I didn't want to weaponize my ship at first but honestly with the amount of nonsense J-Teamers get into alone, I felt it necessary for at least a blaster and a missile launcher. With any luck we'll never need to fire them."

"And the mechs in Cargo right past that door?" Roxy asked giving him a inquisitive look.

"Preparation for if we do... speaking of which. The crew members will be reporting to forward ops to make use of flight simualtor programs for tomorrow. We'll be training you on how to pilot our ships and the EVA Pods."

Bishop popped out of the ceiling, "Our standard course is on autopilot and I have the diagnostic program on sensitive Captain. We'll be good for standard sleep."

Silas nodded, "After dinner you're free to do whatever, the ship has a extensive media library on its terminals or even at the TV set up, just remember we get up at 600 tomorrow and begin work at 7 sharp."

Tassa nodded, she wasn't technically part of the official crew with her current job title but she still wished to observe.

Ganon looked over from his meal with the other mons, and looked to Byleth and Dimtiri, <You two look nervous.>
