Me: So basically, Izaya betrayed Dr. Univyse, took over Mobius and is planning on using La and Merlin to summon and control The Fanatic in order to either destroy the Universe or return it all to the Void? Am I getting that right?

"This Final Shell," Colton considered. "Do you know where and how to access it?" He asked the Doc.

Aaaaaall but the last bit. The Fanatic's more a warp-reality-to-my-will kind of villain not a destroy-it-all kind of villain.

Alyssa: Uh, right, yeah. Um, I guess you have experience with the J-Team? Or, uh. The groups they fought. Them too.

-Alyssa is always an awkward individual-

-But for a moment, you can tangibly feel it radiating off of her, before she figures out how to suppress it.-

Me: Well, the virus won't work if Cheri OS knows what we're up to. So we're going to need a distraction. Since Izaya has the UltraNecrozium-Z we raided Macraul Manor for, La might be his most powerful target at the moment... As for Merlin...

Some Generic Hotel in Viridian City:

Inside a low-lit hotel room, a young man sat hunched over on a black office chair, wireless controller clutched firmly in both hands. His idle gaze invested on his laptop, which was functioning as the only light source inside the room aside from the occasional stray flux of sunlight that managed to bypass the curtains moved every so often by the wind seeping through the open window. The game that captivated the human could best be described as a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon-themed MMO with a focus on team-based real-time combat and extensive exploration. Currently the young man's avatar, a recently leveled-up Grovile DPS wandered about some sort of plaza functioning as a hub world for finding different groups for various raids across the world.

“Man, I've been looking forward to this game all week and there's hardly anyone online right now,” The human moped, “There's maybe 80 people online right now in my server, which actually isn't that much. I've seen thousands of people online at 3 in the morning.”

Because apparently video games are more important than sleep that early. Have you been skipping sleep again? Thought a recently awoken Manectric, taking a moment to observe her trainer's game and at one point tilting her head quizzically. The human noticed his pokemon companion and promptly began petting her head.

“Hey Tricky, finally sleep off that food coma?” He asked, taking a momentary break from the game figuring nothing was going to be happening for a while.

The Manectric only closed her eyes, her neutral expression unchanged although she was definitely thinking while walking off to elsewhere, I don't understand what you like about this game so much, maybe it lets you know what it's like to be a pokemon without actually being one?

The young man shrugged before returning his focus to the game and resending another party search request, “I don't blame you. That was some damn good barbecue.” He slouched further in his chair out of boredom, eventually muttering after 6 minutes of listening to the same 1.5 minute loop of music, “Can I please find a party 'sometime' today? This is reminding me of the waiting times back when I played Nexuiz.”

Silas gave a quizzical look to Kaiiseii, "Whatever your intuition is, I have a good idea it's wrong."

To Pent, "About 2-3 days and Gravity will be on, so don't worry."

He took a deep breath, "The Mission is a Mission To Mars. The Techs will be outfitting my ship with new and improved thrusters based on the gravity technology I have on board my ship. Using them I'll be able to make a straight burn for Mars, I'm to land at the Mars Mission site and receive further orders, but I'm being sent as I'm currently the only ship that can make it in a reasonable timescale."

Roxy grinned, "So? Who wants to go to the Red Planet?"

In a instant, Tassa stepped forward, "I wish to go. I wish to see the relics left behind by my people on that world. You will not stop m-"

"Gonna interrupt, you can come along. The Wing's current design was made to be ready for any adventure with a large party and our supplies can more than last. You will be expected to work however."

Tassa smiled, "I can work very well."

"That's good," Silas noted, before turning back to the party at hand, "Any other takers?"

'Stormchaser"

-to Logan- "Thanks."

"I'd love to go," Colton offered. "Whatever further orders you receive on arrival, I'll contribute as best I can."

At the mention of Merlin Colton's expression drops.

Stormchaser

-to Colton- "What's wrong?"

Aspen went over to the Snom and picked it up. "Your so cute." Snom<The holiday sprit definitely in you this season.>

Mane: -suitably abashed, backs all the way into another room-

-as an expert in radiant emotions, Logan notices rather promptly-

(-and just as promptly misattributes it-)

Ditya: -nod- They've passed through here a few times, yes.

-holding up fingers- Three regions. Twice.

Logan: -scratching head- They got the Stormchaser by crashing it through about a mile of forest.

Ditya: Then pretty shortly after, someone blew up a huge chunk of the Dangerous Cliffs. And crashed a second airship into the reefs.

Logan: -uncertain- But the first time they came through—and we think this was them—they chased some remnants of one of our villain groups to the crashed Sky Fortress, then a bunch of Legendaries descended from the sky and blew it up again.

-they make a little "burst" figure with their fingers, accompanied by a "pyeoom" sound effect-

Ditya: -wince- Damage control.

Logan: -nodnod- Modus operandi.

Addie: -shrug- <Still, you can't deny that they're thorough.>

Logan: -wince- Yeah.

-Mareepish- And, being honest...some of our number have ended up with similar fires on their hands. A few, not naming names.

-turning to Ditya- As for who they've fought here...aside from old bits of the Pinchers, Go-Rock-Squad, Dim Sun, and...Cipher. There were two or three more recently, right?

Ditya: -nod- Neo-Galactic, and the Illusion Project.

Logan: -remembering- Right, yeah.

Addie: -pressing a paw against her eye, wry- <Heh. All those days of running around like Torchic with their heads cut off, trying to deal with all those emotion machines.>

Logan: Then the J-Team strolls into town, and...poof! Sufficiently applied force.

Addie: <And one day, both of them just kinda...stopped.>

Ditya: And all that was left was...damage control.

Logan: -sigh- Cleanup. Picking through the rubble, trying to figure out what happened.

Also, dealing with the rash of superheroes.

Addie: <Yeah, what was up with that?>

Ditya: -sigh- See someone in a cape and a mask and every kid wants to be Gligarman.

Addie: -emphatically- <Not just human kids. There was a murder of Murkrow chicks that got their talons on some tinfoil—>

Logan: Right, Valiant Nightsmurder. Forgot about that.

-chuckle, to Alyssa- Damages are...water under the bridge, though. Seriously.

Ditya: Hey, that Purification Wave? However you (or associates) pulled it off, it was big. Hastings was apparently engrossed in new theories for months.

I read about it in the paper, as a student. Sheesh.

DS: (thinking) It's been a nice birthday... I guess the fact that I'm now only two years away from turning 30 leaves me wondering what I should be trying to accomplish in those two years... (shakes head) Ah, I shouldn't think too hard about it. No point in trying to plan that far ahead, as far as I'm concerned. The future is unpredictable, after all.

- DS takes out her Pokédex, looking through the pages -

DS: (thinking) I've sure managed to fill in a lot more pages in this thing... I wonder where I should head next? Maybe check out the Galar region? There is a certain Pokémon from that region I've been wanting to get ever since I learned of its existence a while ago... I even have a nickname in mind.

- DS puts the Pokédex away -

DS: (still thinking) Well, I can think about it later. For now, I'll just relax.
