Thierry walks in and spots Jonathan in his desk, browsing at some e-mail.

Thierry: Halliburton. Thank Arceus, you're here. You're just the person I need. Could we talk somewhere private or has the captain assigned anything to you that's urgent?

Jonathan: Well, actually, I was just about to discuss a matter regarding this e-mail that was just sent to me by some of the other staff writers.

Thierry: You don't happen to personally know Priscilla Kwan?

Jonathan glared at him, partly sad and partly angry, but mostly the former.

Jonathan: Why did you say that name?

Thierry spots a picture of Jonathan and Priscilla in a heart frame. A gumshoos pops out and growls at Thierry.

Thierry: Oh. I'm sorry.

Jonathan: I am still in love with her.

Thierry: I'm so sorry. Did this come at a terrible time?

Jonathan: If you're thinking of moving in on her I will—

Thierry: Don't worry. I'm not after her personal number. Since our last conversation did not go too well and, apparently, neither did your breakup. See, she works for PEFE—

Jonathan: What did you really come here for?

Thierry: Well, I spotted her undercover at the St. Aldrich Art Auction. I'm surprised your old friend Viscount Macraul was not there. I would presume that she was also on an inspection mission for Dr. Richard and his allies since when the Pokefutures material was seized, she was later reported overseeing its cataloguing, something she also did in the wake of the Glitch incident in Castle Lycanrow.

Walter manifests.

Walter: So you're saying she's connected to these people.

Jonathan: Right, and Vulpecula is a member of the J-Team.

Thierry: I wouldn't put it past her to be coordinating with these so-called "superheroes" at the least. Its certainly useful for PEFE when seizing and collecting potentially dangerous assets.

Jonathan facepalmed.

Thierry: All I'm saying is, I'm right.

Jonathan paused. His sort-of-kind-of rival for the affection of his ex and his imprinted-on father figure actually has a valid point.

Jonathan: We need to discuss this with your father.

Jonathan sends a quick message to Jean via his phone. Tommy walks past them.

Jonathan: Petersen.

Halsei realizes that wasn't enough, and gets hit by the Snarl on top of that, getting knocked back a bit.

Halsei: <...T-that was good. Hopefully this is better.>

They shake it off and jump fairly high into the air for a Jump Kick, aimed right at Talbain. It's obvious this fight is starting to rile them up a bit.

Forte: Welcome back. We're up to the most current Sonic game now.

Forte: Yeah, this is the one where you get to make your own character. It's really cool, I wish they'd got on this sooner.

Forte: I dunno what I'm gonna do after this. Probably take a break? I do need to get back to training and stuff, especially Blueberry.

Forte: Do I have a fursona? Well, duh. Their name is Kerro because of time shenanigans where I had to appear as both human and Eevee for a while and needed a name.

The Jump Kick hits Talbain in the back, forcing him to sprawl before he springs back up, staring down Halis as he rushed them down, clicked his teeth and attempted to hit them with Fire Fang.

Me: Yes, hi. I want to know if you have any books on psychic phenomena and powers...

Librarian: Hmm... I don't think we do...

Halsei hops back over to where they were after landing the Jump Kick.

They notice the Fire Fang coming and Defense Curl in place, taking the hit rather than avoiding it... however, it caused them to flinch and not actually do anything else out of panic.

Halsei: <T-this is bad...>

They're still sitting there, using Defense Curl.

Me: the Macrauls are a family of Kalosians who collect all sorts of things. Well, one of them collected something that shouldn't have been collected.

Me: Yeah. A Z-Crystal. Do you remember the Necrozma that the J-Team and I fought back at Mt. Moon?

Mom: Yes, you told me about them. What about it?

Me: Well, its name is Voyd and it's on the run from Mobius.

Mom: You told me about it being on the run from Mobius already.

Me: Yes, well Voyd was missing its Z-Crystal, Ultranecrozium-Z.

Mom: Lemme guess, the Macrauls had it?

Me: Yep. And it was up to the J-Team and I to get back what shouldn't be gone!

Me: Yep... However, I ran into Des and we were eventually spotted...

Me: Turned out Sylvestra was already married. The husband's name is David and the moment he removes his ring, he transforms into a Golurk!

Mom: Are you okay, Ian?

Me: Yeah! I'm fine. Hubby McGigantor and Sylvestra were no match for Des and I.

-Mom breaks down laughing-

Mom: Hubby McGigantor?! That was what you called him?!

Me: -chuckles- Yep. And anyway, Des and I retrieved the Z-Crystal and with the assistance of Merlin, a Diancie who has ties with the J-Team, we were able to escape!

Mom: Yatta!

Me: Yeah! That's what we thought... because suddenly, KA-BOOM!!! We were almost blown to the Distortion World by a Weezing!

Mom: Yikes! Was anyone hurt?

Me: No serious injuries were sustained, fortunately. Then suddenly, someone stole the Z-Crystal we worked so hard to recover from us, and worse! They kidnapped Merlin! I tried to go after them, but it was too late...

Mom: I hope Merlin is alright...

Me: I'm sure he will be... Once I got back on my feet, I let loose with a yell of "You're going to pay!"

Mom: I'm sure he will!

Me: Yeah... and while I was on my way home, I... well...

Mom: Hm?

Me: My experience in White Forest had felt so trancelike, but I'm telling you for a fact, that it actually happened...

Mom: Well... I'm ready to believe you.

Me: Okay... so, while I was in White Forest... I met Meloetta.

Mom: You actually met Meloetta?! The Mythical Melody Pokémon in White Forest?!

Me: Yes. She sang a beautiful song in a clearing shrouded in fog...

Mom: That explains why it felt so trancelike to you...

Me: It did... and as Meloetta and I were talking, she revealed to me that I had... potential...

Mom: What kind of potential...?

Me: She told me that I have "the soft song of psychic power in me". In short, I have psychic powers, though at the moment they are unfocused and weak.

Mom: Wow... That must've been some encounter.

Me: It sure was, Mom.

Mom: Well, I hope you continue your adventure and strive to be the greatest trainer you can be...

Me: That's the plan. Love you, Mom.

Mom: Love you too, Ian. Bye.

Silversmith read Ian's reply and shrugged. Turned out he didn't magically know. He replied with a short "thanks". Meanwhile, Armando ironically and metaphorically melted. If he had a brain, it's functions would have ceased. Cortez wanted to return the favor to Mischief, but his effect spores were an ever present thorn in his physical affection for anyone.

Cortez: <You've been bonding? That's great! Jackson was just getting around to bonding with us, when you guys showed up!>

Silversmith recalled one of Cortez's exclamations in the depths of Mt Moon.

Silversmith: "Yes, you should absolutely participate in the Contest circuit. Mischief would have quite the advantage. -squints at Mischief- I believe a battle would be an excellent way to sharpen your gym fighting skills, appeal to Cortez's preferences, and perhaps have Scorch evolve. If a certain ghost type counter to Scout was actually available this time, a duel between us may end differently."

Armando: <Sorry, I'm a bit busy at the moment... If only there was a different ghost at your disposal...>

Silversmith: "Ha ha. -sigh- Scratch that idea."

Aqua: <We don't have to scratch it! How about Shadow doesn't use Scout?>

Silversmith: "I will not battle with undue handicaps. It would be dishonorable."

Silver Bullet: <Dude, it's just you and a friend. How important is honor right now?>
