Time seemed to freeze to allow Silversmith to ponder his decision.
Silversmith: Regret not going? Well, there would be me not fulfilling my obligation to the world to stand up for the greater good... On the other hand, the world has this well in hand. What difference would I make? On the other hand, if everyone thought like that, no one would go. Besides, if I'm gonna deal with my... fear, sooner would be better than later. *Internal sigh* Do I have to though? Can't I just go through life and not?
His father's words flashed through his mind.
Silversmith Sr.: "Son, never run from your problems. It never works out. Trust me, I know from experience."
Silversmith: *Internal sigh* I'm gonna regret this... *Imagine spot of Silversmith getting scratched by a were-mon on accident*... No!
Silversmith: "I have to go. If I don't go when the world doesn't need me, how can I trust myself to go when it does? I've lost enough honor today. To not go would bring yet more dishonor on my name. By my troth! *slams table lightly* I shall go! And I shall do whatever I can to stop the light ending thing, be it fight or aid!"

Silversmith: "If I had a hat, I would tip it to you, then rearrange it and walk out. Remind me to get an awesome hat at some point, Cortez."

-A Greninja pops up behind him shortly after-

Blitz: "True. But I think his learning to deal with his fear is more important right now"
Genji: <Ah! Of course.>
Blitz: -sighs- "Though that probably means it's coming out of my paycheck instead..."

Silversmith left the Pokemon center confident. However, it had gotten significantly darker since he entered. He tried to retrace his steps, but it was difficult to see. He deployed Armando the Litwick.Armando: <Let me guess: armageddon?>
Silversmith: "Probably. We're going to throw our hat in the ring."
Armando: <So we're just gonna storm the castle—I mean cave and pray for a miracle?>
Silversmith: "No. Strength in numbers. There's a horde of presumably good people out to stop it. We go now to join them."
The path was barely illuminated by Armando's flame. The trio advanced cautiously.
Mt. Moon square
Silversmith: "It's deserted. Everybody must have went inside."
Armando: <And the captain obvious award goes to Jackson! Congratulations!>
Silversmith: "Now is not the time."
Suddenly, Silversmith received a call.
Silversmith: "Yes? Dad? ...They didn't show up? Jerks. ...Oh yea, all the light is gone. I'm at Mt. Moon right now... Yea, that's where the evil psychic thingie is centralized... Really? Great. ...Understood. Goodbye."
Silversmith had a feeling that that was the last time he would speak to his father. They entered the cave.
Mt Moon, outer cave
The small light illuminated even less in the cave. Then, none at all. A jutting rock scratched Silversmith's left arm.Silversmith: "CRAP!"
Armando: <Is that in reference to the fact that we're still alone, or that we can't see anything?>
Silversmith: "No, I got scratched by something!... If that was some were-mon, it's to late now. Let's focus."
Being unable to see actually assuaged Silversmith's fear. The trio ventured deeper into the cave.
Mt Moon, inner cave

Eris continues cautiously into the darkness. She pulls out a... well, it's a walky-talky. Well, two of them. She tosses one to Lif and walks a few feet away.
They still communicate just fine.
Eris: "Well, that's good. Better than last time we were in a similar situation, at least."
Lifthrasir: ~Yes, it is.~
Eris: "Let's go."
The glow of Eris' eyes has dimmed... far less than one might expect, and taken on a very staticky sheen.
Eris staggers a bit from the Hyper Voice
Red basically ignores it, and Lifthrasir winces.
Eris: "Psychic moves... Necrozma is a Psychic type, I think. Red, what can you do?"
Red nods, and fires a Dark Pulse in the general direction Lifthrasir directs her to, based on the where the psychicness is coming from.
All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world.
