Soccer/RPG games aren't exactly new, there's also the Captain Tsubasa series, which started on the Famicom. They're just as No Export for You as Inazuma Eleven, but some of them have Fan Translations.

"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeI know that, to be honest, but this is the first time I've seen that it's actually translated.
Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed. The only thing I ever saw of it were pictures on Danbooru. Wholesome Crossdresser Pictures of traps. I was a bit surprised when I read that it's about football.
Until now, I didn't even know that it's a game (thought it's an anime). I don't actually like football, but as a sport/RPG hybrid this could be interesting...
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Since it's DS I can import it from Europe right?
-sniff- ...my first import game... Gotta mark this milestone.
i. hear. a. sound.Anyone played this game yet?
I just played this game, and I say its somewhat frustrating the moves doesn't reveal what they do mechanically.
If you're referring to the two choices that pop up each time you have a confrontation, the general idea is that the choice on the right has a higher success rate (i.e. it's more likely to get/keep the ball away from the opponent) but is more liable to result in a loose ball even if it succeeds. If you're playing the first game, this is explained in a tutorial sometime around Chapter 2. The choice doesn't actually matter in Chapter 1 'cause nigh everything's scripted. And the game tends to stagger its explanations throughout the first couple chapters; it seems Level 5 went out of their way to avert Info Dump.
If you're referring to the hissatsu waza (special techniques), go to the menu -> mochimono (inventory, 2nd option) -> hissatsu waza (3rd option); there you can look through your team's hissatsu and each one has a description on the top screen when highlighted.
(Disclaimer: The above was written based on my Japanese imported copy of Inazuma Eleven 3, if you're plaing the European version of the first game, things may not be exactly the same.)

Extra 1: Poochy Ain't StupidThe UK version of Inazuma Eleven is a standard Nintendo DS cartridge, so it's region free. You can import it, and it will work on every type of DS.
(The UK version of Last Window was also region-free, and I believe this will also be true for the planned UK version of Solatorobo.)
People on the gbatemp.net forums have created a "de-localization" patch that uses the UK version of Inazuma Eleven, and changes the names and voices back to the Japanese originals. Of course, this only works through emulation...
- I meant the special techniques. There is no way of telling which one is better then the other one besides tp usage. It really reduce strategy (not that you need it much) to plain guessing. I am sure special moves rely on/modify stats in some way, so even some general description like "X move is stronger with a character that has high Y stat" would be good. I don't need exactly calculations, but surely description would be nice.
I am playing the first one btw.

As far as I know, that's because there is no synergy between stats and techniques; it's purely additive, i.e. the formula is something like "relevant stat(s) + technique power + random roll", with which stat(s) being relevant depending on the situation you're in, not the tech used. The decision is a trade-off between TP usage and success rate (and in the case of dribble and block techniques, foul risk - some techniques foul more often than others, some never foul).

Extra 1: Poochy Ain't StupidSo Inazuma Eleven is back with Ares. I watched the original 127 episodes of the series and I'm only 36 episodes in Inazuma Eleven Go. I have started watching Ares. Has anyone else watched Danball Senki?
I watched Wars but none of the original or W. Also is it true that Ares is being released in the US? We only ever got the first game as a digital only title so I'd love it if we got more of the games here.
Ares has confirmed to come to the west but the game is on hiatus overall because Hino has some issues with the development. We need some more Danball Senki content though.
Inazuma Eleven: Ares is airing in America. This is the first time the series has aired in America and it's the second English dub.
It's nice but... The English names are still as terrible as they were with the first game's release. Most don't seem to 'fit' the character or go for any Meaningful Name. I don't even understand the name change because the series explicitly takes place in Japan. Most Japanese kids don't have names like "Sonny" or "Mark". Level-5 is one of the few companies I know that still does Dub Name Changes like that. Most other anime and games keep the names Japanese.
Thoughts on Orion and the dub of Ares?
Also, is it just me or did Someoka get horrible treatment in the series outside of season 2 of the original series?
Funny how both the dub and subs ended up with a character being named Valentin.
Man I wish I was around when this thread first started. The Level-5 anime community is so damn small as it is, especially if you're not that big into Yokai Watch.
I'm still waiting for the game to come out but since they apparently restarted building the game from scratch last year it's going to be awhile.
I know they can deliver but man its gonna be a while, and I have no idea if the dub is going...to dub Orion on Koukin. Or Disciples of Orion. Nah they'll just shorten it to Inazuma Eleven Orion.
I couldn't find any topic about this game, so here we go.
For those of you not in the know, Inazuma Eleven is a 2008 DS game by Level 5.
It's a soccer/football RPG. Seriously.
The game's been No Export for You for several years now, but the first game in the series (there's been three of 'em now) has finally been localized, and is hitting Europe (no America though D:) at the end of this month.
Personally, I'm stoked. I was when the fan translation started to gain momentum (this translation got cancelled), when there were rumors about it releasing during the 2010 World Cup because of attention to football (yeah, that didn't happen). And now I'm stoked because it's ACTUALLY HAPPENING this time.
F yeah.
Stargate SG-1 Let's Watch. Because my ZHP thing failed.
