They covered up Mythra's legs in Smash and that design was actually well received by fans.

Well, one thing to note about Mythra's redesign being well received by fans is that Xenoblade 2, from what I've heard, has a lot of fanservice-y outfits for the characters. And fanservice in anime-styled games tends to be very divisive amongst mostly western players.

Though Smash also being aimed for a younger audience than anime-styled games usually aim for means that Smash is likely to Bowderlize fanservice-y outfits.

Pyra is worse and her spirit is unchanged from what i can tell.

TBF on Mother getting new content. It can hardly count as new as all that stuff appeared earlier in the games. There's no real continuation to the original franchise given everything about Porky's fate and the destruction/rebirth of the world. In short, the game franchise's over but we're still getting more things from the games' elements such as enemies, bosses, etc.

I'm pretty sure they don't revive the Mother series because Shigesato Itoi had and has no intention of ever making another one after Mother 3.

I don't mean just get another installment of the series, I'm talking about doing things like porting Mother 3 or appearing in more crossovers & such. The most Ultimate did was improving Ness & Lucas's Final Smash visually.

Mother 3 in particular got no new music tracks at all in this game, or the previous. Even Earthbound got two new remixes in Ultimate, while Lucas has had the same four tracks since Brawl. It's criminal, because Mother 3 has a rich and varied soundtrack, and there are several battle themes that would have been ideal for new remixes, like Fight with Mecha-Drago, Natural Killer Cyborg and Master Porky's Theme.^note as distinct from the current 'Porky's Theme' in Smash, which is derived from 'His Highness' Theme' and 'LOG-O-TYPE' Perhaps even a little cheeky nod to real classical music with Family Matters or Ode to Ancestors?

The theory was that Earthbound's music was the reason it didn't get rereleased until almost 20 years later, but apparently that wasn't the case. However, what if the music is the reason why its music in Smash are just remixes and not directly from the game.

So a sequel to The World Ends with You got announced recently, and now I'm once again hoping that a The World Ends with You character becomes playable in Smash.

I also wonder what a The World Ends with You stage would look like.

I think Neku's definitely getting something in Smash, especially given that Trials of Mana & Octopath got some promotion in that respect.

Whether its as an actual fighter, a Mii Costume with another Square Enix character, or just a big spirit event I don't know. But we'll be seeing him in Ultimate in some form before 2021 is over.

I can already imagine a Sho Minamimoto Spirit battle against a black Incineroar.

As for what a stage would look like, I'm imagining something similar to Garreg Mach Monastery where you move around various parts of Shibuya and you can see various characters either just chilling around.

He’s one of my pipe dream picks too, but I expect we’ll at least get a spirit board or something.

Here's a question for everyone, what's that bitter compromise you're willing to make for your most requested character, being a Mii Costume or an Assist Trophy?

Since "that character" for me is a Rhythm Heaven fighter and I prefer playing with items, I'd say assist trophy

I never bother with Miis, so Assist Trophy all the way.

Sigh, I guess I'd prefer for Travis my preferred character to be a Mii costume. But either way, it's a disappointment.

Except, a GOOD Mii Costume. So, not Tails'.

We need more Sans and Cuphead approaches to Mii costumes. Tails and Knuckles first and foremost.

And I kinda already got Ridley and Dark Samus, who graduated from Assist Trophy, while Waluigi and Shadow are AT's, and Dixie is a Mii wig, not even a costume.

Perhaps the Dragonborn would work damn well as a costume, but, yet another Mii sworfighter costume would be meh; Iron helmet Mii hat, on the other hand, would be decent-ish.

Crash would be quite odd as a costume, but could work. Spyro makes a nice hat, but hey, AT would work fine.

...

DLC NOT adding more Pokemon, A Ts or echoes is an wasted opportunity.

Aside from him, of the rest of my most wanteds most would work as costumes and one (Monster Hunter) already was last game. The only ones I could see being Assist Trophies are Reimu and Amaterasu, though both would work pretty well in that role.

There have been speculation that the CSS will crash at a certain number of characters. I wonder if that includes echoes as they can be stacked.

It's also possible for them to make more Mii Costumes more faithful to their characters, if they don't limit them to only being Gunner/Brawler/Swordfighter, but instead allow some costumes to have a specific moveset that can take from all 3.

For example: Travis, Tails, Knuckles, Viridi, and Bomberman.
