April is Joker release with a trailer at the least. Maybe a tease to the second DLC after that.

Or maybe after E3 they release 3 characters at once like they did with Lucas, Roy and Ryu.

You do realize that the last direct told us that Version 3.0.0 was coming with features besides Joker, which they chose not to elaborate upon in said direct.

Pretty sure they're gonna actually want to announce those features at some point.

Just waiting on The Mighty Keef to make a new video about the Evo 2019 lineup and how he portrays Melee not getting in.

Oh, the wonders that will happen should an Under Night or Samurai Shodown character make it in as a challenger pack in Ultimate.

@MEKristian: I reckon it's something to do with Smash World, the smartphone app they mentioned in one of the Directs from last year and haven't brought up since.

Melee still has a healthy tournament life. It's not going to be at EVO (officially, anyways), but nobody's pulling the plug on all the other Melee majors and supermajors this year.

It certainly is long past time for Melee to leave EVO, though. Other than Smash, EVO hasn't run multiple installments of a single franchise since Street Fighter IV revived the genre, IIRC.

Of course, this does mean that Leffen will forever be the reigning Melee EVO champion. Can we all collectively pretend that 2017 was the last year Melee was featured?

Can we do the same with Smash 4?

I'm pretty much convinced that Banjo and Kazooie are going to be playable in Ultimate. I've heard all the counterarguments, but I feel it in my bones. Xbox and Nintendo are exhibiting an unprecedented amount of chumminess and Sakurai knows Banjo and Kazooie are the Xbox characters Nintendo fans most want to see.

Honestly, though, as much as I love the bear and bird, I'd be okay with any Xbox character as long as it isn't Steve. If I absolutely can't have Banjo, I'd gladly settle for Master Chief.

Remember how the Regginator said that the DLC characters would be unexpected and so far he's been completely correct?

I doubt anybody would expect a character from Story of Seasons (formerly Harvest Moon) or Harvest Moon (currently Harvest Moon). In the Switch thread, Lord Vatek suggested that a Rune Factory character would work better as they would be functionally the same but have more stuff to do, but honestly I'd really like a moveset based entirely around farming.
