Directs never happen on the weekend except for E3.

There is no way, no way, that Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming to the Switch. That thing appears to be pushing the PS 4 as much as it can, graphically, and the Switch is nowhere close to the raw power of that system.

Close your heart to it.

Yeaaaaaah no. This reeks of someone trying waaaaay too hard. I'll gladly eat my hat if somehow this all ends up true, though.

Would like to see the part about K. Rool and Dixie being true, though. And, admittedly, the fact that Wario is allegedly playable in an alleged New Super Mario World sounds interesting and could be a breath of fresh air for the New Super Mario Bros series.

That list sounds like stuff they should announce at E3, not a Direct, ESPECIALLY Mother 3.

If any Mother game is going to get the full remake treatment, there's no way it wouldn't be Earthbound. It's far and away the most well-known installment.

I'm not saying I believe it, but some Directs have been much meatier than E3.

It feels like Nintendo's E3 was entirely about Smash Bros.

Well, I guess it's either the Jump competition or the supposed Direct leak where we will find out the validity of the codename leak.

Yeah, Nintendo tends to treat E3 as just another Direct, and they sometimes release Directs that are bigger than E3's Direct.

I wouldn't expect it immediately a month after E3 though.

Going back to the leak for a sec. It mentions a July 22nd Direct. July 22nd is a Sunday. There will be no Direct on a Sunday.

Ultimate will be at least 16 GB according to the Japanese eShop.

What makes you think there won't be a Direct on Sunday?

Directs are always on weekdays. There have been announcements for sure on weekends, but never actual Directs.

I was initially surprised a lot of the updates were around 9-11pm EST.

The Miiverse Pic of the Days for Smash 4 were usually 2-4am EST.

There are some blog updates that are occasionally like that too.

The blog didn't update until around 3-4am EST for Kirby's Ultimate trailer.

I tried to imagine what Lip's design might be if she ever ended up in Smash.

That looks great! Her clothes have a modern touch to them, in that "modernized design for a retro character in Smash" sort of way.

Random observation: I don't believe we've seen King Dedede's Down-B yet. I wonder if they've changed it in any way. The current one does seem a little bland to me. Here's a character whose moveset is like 75% hammer swings and one of his Specials is using jet power to... swing his hammer. It'd be neat if they changed it to a Spin Attack. Or maybe keep it as a simple bludgeon attack at lower charge levels and make it change to a Spin Attack at higher charge levels?

/ Lip is a character I would love to see in Smash, yet I can't help but worry that her not being well-known means the most she'll get is an Assist Trophy position.
