To be fair, Honor Before Reason is the hat of the Saiyan race. It has to be a grueling fight where you push the limits of your own abilities or they're just not satisfied. After all, Goku didn't want to track down Gero before the androids were finished either, nor did he just go SSJ 3 and shut down Majin Vegeta.

From my understanding SS 3 wasn't a thing at the time and was apparently a last minute addition for Goku.

In story I am guessing the flaws of SS 3 was probably why it was not utilized or Buu would have woke up sooner with that much energy being used.

No. Goku didn't realize the flaws of using it while alive until he fought Buu.

It's just a big screw-up on Toriyama's part, and Goku deciding humouring Vegeta was more important than getting the fight done quickly.

The issue is that Vegeta has never shown traits of this before, which makes it a terrible idea to try and use that to show off Vegeta's character development.

You'd need to compare on one of Vegeta's actual flaws instead of unventing a new, incredibly stupid one.

I wouldn't change the scene, I'd cut it. It's stupid and adds nothing.

You'd think the fact that Vegeta doesn't go around laughing while genociding people would show his development.

I think it's a pretty logical extrapolation of Vegeta's character. This is a Vegeta who never learned to reign in his ego and pretty much got everything he wanted for like 20 years, so I don't think it's that big a stretch for him to try to keep himself at the center of the situation like he's used to being.

I agree. I mean, Vegeta had to get a lot of beatings to become the guy he is by the time of this story.

I'm not shocked he's a bit more obstinate when he lacks that.

Well, this is an interesting scenario.

Though lets be honest: Any group that has Goku on their side is gonna win by virtue of him being Goku. Especially DB Goku.

But to quote a certain Civil War Meme, they're all fucked when King Piccolo wakes up...which probably won't happen since Pilaf already rules the world...damn.

How is that a fair match exactly?

Grandpa Gohan was as strong as Goku was after he defeated the Red Ribbon (or at least, he didn't get instantly stomped. Some of that might be connected to him being a ghost), so he's a match for most of the guys there.

As for Goku himself, we can't be sure that he's as strong as he would be in this mini story at the same approximate point because he didn't receive training from Gohan, Roshi, or Korrin.

He's still probably a beast, because he's Goku, and he barely has to try, but I'm sure he's still lacking.

Though it would raise the question of if he received any training in the Red Ribbon Army since there are a few specialist that could teach him a thing or two and he might have picked up something from mercenary Tao.

At this point, I expect that Radditz is going to be the first super saiyan and defeat Broly with the help of Buu who previously defeated Cell.

Like... I actually think this could be fun if it was anything resembling coherent. But I can't fucking tell what's happening.

Like honestly, this Universe seems more interesting than most. But goddamn it's gibberish.
