I think it's neat; the tweed getup and orange shirt tie in well with the past few Doctors' mixture of outfits that would be familiar to contemporary audiences while still having their share of eccentricities.

Be kind. The Doctor in a tee shirt! I wouldn't like it but it being paired with tweed makes it such a noncoherent look it works.
Orange is my favorite color :)
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.Has the EU ever done a story for the 9th Doctor right after regenerating from War? Given the trauma of the end of the Time War and believing he destroyed the Time Lords, there's a lot of mileage to angst you could get. I have to think there was a significant period between then and when we first see him because of how miserable he would start as that incarnation.
It's unclear how much time passes between the end of the time war and "Rose", but there are a good amount of stories set in that gap. In one account, 9 destroys every mirror in the TARDIS (a bit maudlin and silly of course considering how reflective the TARDIS interior is anyway) right after the War.
In probably his "first" adventure afterwards, he arrived on a planet known for being very peaceful and would have sacrificed himself to stop a threat there, but his potential companion did that first.
He has a few more adventures while not trying to, and then eventually starts answering calls for help directly, while still choosing not to have friends or companions. According to some writers, once he got over the worst of his PTSD and grief, he focused on saving as many people as possible as "punishment" for his actions in the War.
Most EU stuff goes with one of two angles. Either he has been 9 for a while and never bothered to really look at himself, or he regenerated right before the episode and his non-Rose adventures were in the like, minute the TARDIS dematerialized without Rose.
Not Three Laws compliant.IIRC, RTD envisioned the Ninth Doctor as having been active for a while, and his comments about himself in the mirror are just him being self-conscious about his looks.
Be kind.Moffat making War's last words "I hope the ears aren't conspicuous" (or something, don't remember specifically) is genius
I wonder if the EU will ever explore what 9 was doing during Kennedy's trip to Dallas. I wouldn't be surprised if they play it tongue in cheek because of how much of a time travel cliche it is. They did the tongue in cheek thing with another time travel cliche
"I hope the ears aren't as conspicuous this time"
They did surprisingly well with his regeneration scene, seeing as Christopher Eccleston had sworn off working on Doctor who at that point in time.
Looking for a good curry, maybe?
So I rewatched Flux as a binge-watch with a friend and it was uh…much less bad when watched all together. It’s still kind of a mess, but a lot of the plot elements actually flow a lot better. Village of the Angels is still the high point and Professor Jericho is the best new character (Justice for Professor Jericho), and I still really dislike a lot of the stuff about how it ended (the Lupari plot line had the worst resolution and it’s never explained what happened with the eroded universe because they never clearly explain if the universe kinda…uncompressed after the Division fields are gone). Bel and Vinder’s lot is a lot less random and the Grand Serpent stuff flows better when it’s not this herky-jerky bits and pieces thing.
I think it maybe needed another proper episode but while it’s still real janky, it’s not the worst of New Who (seasons 6 and 7 have a lot of huge problems) and if you string it all together, it’s actually a pretty fun ride.
Not Three Laws compliant. It's almost comical to me how Tecteun gets disposed off by Swarm and Azure given how she's part of one of the biggest retcons in the series. Did Chibs do that to please people pissed off at the Timeless Child retcon? Rassilon is probably laughing at her on whatever exiled planet they sent him to
It's also kind of funny in retrospect that Omega is kind of the Token Good Teammate of the founders; I don't think he's ever depicted as villainous before he fell into a black hole and went mad from millions of years of loneliness

It definitely feels like it was made to be binged in one sitting.
I don't think that the damage was undone. It was still there, just forgotten about for the time being, like the time the Master caused 1/4 of the universe to disintegrate in Logopolis.

Not sure. I think that the idea might have been that she was a way to tie things in and try to wrap up the plot line for the new season, since people might have otherwise wondered where she got to, if she was that foundational to Time Lord society. She's basically Rassilon 2, but without the advantage of having shown to have died.
That said, the villain-switching was a core issue of the era. A lot of the worse episodes had similar problems, with the main villain of the piece kept changing, and it didn't allow them enough time or space to wrap things up neatly. Maybe the resolution was too messy for their liking?
It's like what happened to Ashad. The writers couldn't figure out what to do with him, so they unceremoniously killed him with the Master, and that was the end of that.
We're getting something for Christmas after all
And here it is
Hard to tell too much from a teaser but it looks like they are playing up that 14 looks like 10 but is not a literal redo. Gatwa does look to be showing up in some capacity but hard to know what exactly is going on there too.
Also Donna's memory...lock... thing is going to be addressed and not just ignored. Again can't say on how good a "fix" it will be based on what we got.

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."just as long as her head does'nt explode!
New theme music also a boxAnd I see we have Beep The Meep confirmed, but not who's voicing it
So which of the companions of the current series (2005-present) have left on their own terms? I know all of Thirteen's companions have done this.
Still hoping for the penguin (Frobisher)
New theme music also a boxMartha flat-out just went "You know what? I'm done. Thanks for the adventures but I'd like to not be in mortal danger on a constant basis."
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonAhh, good reason.
If you count Wilf as an "official" companion he sort of did?
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."It was less mortal danger and more Unrequited Love, but it's better than Journey's End.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundLooking at the trailer, in addition to Beep the Meep, we also have the Wrarth Warriors, which in combination with the events seen in the trailer makes me think that the specials are going to adapt Doctor Who and the Star Beast. I read the original comic back in middle school (my mom bought me some of the Doctor Who Classics volumes), so it'll be interesting to see how the storyline gets carried over for a different Doctor.
Be kind.
hey the sixth's doctor costume was awesome dont diss
New theme music also a box
