The vast majority of that list is rated over 6/10, so yeah, they're not exactly bad.

But dang, Fear Her is at 3.8? 0.7 points below the next entry? That's pretty damning.

I actually have a soft spot for Fear her, simply because it's the only episode in series 2 in which Ten X Rose actually works and seems fun. However it is a terrible episode outside of that, maybe I enjoy the single mother abuse survivor and the scribble monster, and Rose getting to solve the third act herself, and the audacity of the scribble monster, and the council worker who seems to view council ownership as infallible.

Gosh, maybe I've watched that episode too many times.

Fear Her had Ten carry the Olympic flatme, that's the only redeeming part of it

Some would probably disagree with you on that. Not me though.

Funnily enough, when real life caught up to that moment, it was Matt Smith who carried the actual olympic torch.

Also...we need to come up with good things to say about Ten. I've been thinking about it, and it might reduce some of the bitterness against him.

I know it's hard, but there have to be some good things (unambiguously good, and not up to interpretation) to say about him.

I kind of like him from nostalgia but that doesn't count. There were plenty of good Ten episodes.

In every other community I try to have a conversation about doctor who in I get nothing but "ten was the best, moffat personally ruined my childhood" so I kind of hate ten by association.

Honestly, I hate Ten's guts, but I think part of it is because I read about everyone else hating Ten's guts before I even saw his tenure. It kinda colored my impression of him a bit. So I think that rather than piling on the vitriol, we should at the very least just not mention all the ways we want Ten to die in a fire. Lest we cause someone else to become a Ten Hater.

As for good things... there's this I guess?

Still should have been his actual regeneration scene.

I think the best thing to do is stop constantly relitigating the issue and let the conversation take its natural course.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

I still don't get where the vitriol even comes from.

[up]That too. But given how we were trying not to overtly shit on Ten, that wasn't something I really wanted to bring up.tongue

So, this dropped on the Doctor Who youtube channel a few days ago. No one seems to have uploaded it here, and that would be a crime in and of itself against this wonderful scene, so here it is.

I'm gonna miss murray gold's score next series. He's such a great score composer.

[up]x5 I did, two pages ago.

[up]x4 While I do enjoy "The Shepherd's Boy" and other stuff of his, I think he sometimes overdid it a little. There are scenes where I would have preferred less "epic" music. Sometimes less is more.

I enjoyed watching "Genesis of the Daleks" on the movie screen a few nights ago. They've cleaned up the picture nicely for the blu-ray release. It looked really good.

Tom Baker is almost 84. Wow.

It's too much of a hassle to watch it when it's late T night in the GMT timezone. Moreover, none of the sheduals twitch have posted seem to be correct and they don't have start time for serials.

I've caught loads of them, sometimes on the two or three repeat loops they did. Had a lot of fun with The Sea Devils last night, and saw The Time Monster today. I'll watch The Three Doctors tomorrow.
