- Hilarious in Hindsight: Kenneth Connor's characterisation as a wannabe electrician who mucks up whatever he tries to mend is eerily similar to his role in Nearly a Nasty Accident, which came out the following year.
- Retroactive Recognition:
- Commander Phillips is played by Ed Devereaux, who would later be best known for playing Matt Hammond in Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.
- The sailor who lets Captain Foster know that Admiral Pettigrew has arrived onboard the Terrier is played by Jack Smethurst, who would later be best known for playing Eddie Booth in Love Thy Neighbour.
- Values Dissonance:
- Several of the comments made towards Ranjid by the other dockyard electrician such as the one about his turban and calling his mouth a "curry hole" come across as uncomfortable in the modern day. It also isn't helped that Ranjid is played by Spike Milligan in Brownface.
- Admiral Pettigrew tries to force himself on Blissworth when he is disguised as Miss Potter and the whole scene is Played for Laughs.
