• Anvilicious: The Dispatch episodes want to be SURE that you're washing your hands.

• Bizarro Episode: "Our Better Angels" is very surreal for the series and doesn't seem to connect to the other episodes.
  • "Dispatch 5" concerns Deputy Dillard encountering a small Mayan Doomsday brought about by a horde of ants. This comes out of nowhere and is the only Dispatch episode that doesn't in some way relate to the COVID-19 pandemic.

• Downer Ending: While episodes don't always necessarily have cheery endings, the ending of "Wellness" is particularly bleak.

• Ensemble Dark Horse: Sheriff Rowland, though it helps that she's one of the only recurring characters.

• Heartwarming Moments: Plenty of them, but the ending of "Wichita Starman" in particular.

• Ho Yay: In "Burnin' For You" Henry's obsession with Chester leans heavily into Stalker with a Crush territory, and the resolution of the episode sees them spending the next few years alone in the watchtower Henry's soul develops.
