• Awesome Music: "Song to the Siren": there can be few songs which have been covered by Pat Boone, Robert Plant, Bryan Ferry and The Chemical Brothers. Most people feel that the album version isn't the best version, being a bit too mannered and over-produced. Buckley performed a much simpler, starker version for his appearance on The Monkees (the version linked above, which is available on an album of rare recordings) and one can only wonder what the kids made of a haunting, downbeat ballad about a man's fascination with death.
• Creepy Awesome / Nightmare Fuel: A lot of the more extreme arrangements on Starsailor manage to be both amazing and frightening at the same time.
