YMMV / The Vampire Dies in No Time

Go To

  • Awesome Art: Episode 3 of the second season has surprisingly well animated action sequences. The duel between Fukuma and Sanzu could have come from a battle shounen, while the scenes where Sanzu is figuratively beaten around by Ronaldo's comments is surprisingly fluid.
  • Fanon:
    • Fan theories regarding Draluc's status in the Uso AU vary. However, it's widely accepted that, still alive or not, he sacrificed his physical form and gave his heart to Ronaldo to bring him Back from the Dead, although this has never been confirmed by the mangaka.
    • With the older designs and the reveal that Ronaldo and Draluc still live together after thirty years, it's common for fans to depict their future selves as a married couple.
    • Following a mangaka tweet revealing that Ronaldo's office-cum-apartment rent is only eight thousand yen a month, it became a popular theory that his home was extremely haunted and was affecting his health to varying degrees before Draluc—now theorised to be spiritually strong to compensate for his physical weakness—moved in.
  • Magnificent Bastard:
    • Fukuma is the dreaded yet effective editor for Ronaldo's books. When Ronaldo forgets to meet his deadline, Fukuma sees through his attempts at trickery and locks him in a hollowed out iron maiden until Ronaldo finishes his work. Even Ronaldo has to admit his unorthodox methods lead to him writing a brilliant book and Fukuma ridigly monitors Ronaldo to make sure the writer keeps up promotion to ensure good sales.
    • The Progenitor, Draluc's grandfather and implied to be Dracula himself, is a hilariously resilient, easygoing vampire who often forces his family to partake in whatever games or hobbies he's invested in during his off-time. Lately forcing his family to compete in a handmade board game, the Progenitor's game is entirely unfair, with most spaces forcing players into surprise traps or embarrassing situations.
    • Mr. Lewd Talk is a perverted but charming vampire who wishes to spread lewdness across the world. Starting trouble with his hypnotizing staff, Mr. Lewd Talk incapacitates all the vampire hunters as they expose their fetishes and even when caught and beaten proudly states his goal to spread lewdness has been immortalized and later returns to cover the district in a barrier making lewd phrases replace power.
  • Moe: John. An adorable, very talented armadillo who is also the cutest thing ever.
  • One True Pairing: Ronaldo/Draluc is far and away the series' most popular ship, with many fans interpreting their relationship as co-parents with John as their child.
  • Starboarding: It's very common for fans to portray Northdin as having one-sided feelings for Draus, who's far too wrapped up in his wife to notice, let alone reciprocate.
