YMMV / The Spirit of Christmas

Go To

  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • In Jesus vs. Frosty short, Proto-Kyle accidentally gets Proto-Cartman (or "Kenny", as he's referred to in this short) killed by bringing Frosty to life. On later episodes of the show, Kyle and Cartman would intentionally make attempts on each other's lives due to the shared rivalry between them.
    • Also in Jesus vs. Frosty, Proto-Stan spends most of the episode chastising Proto-Kyle for unintentionally getting Proto-Cartman and Proto-Kenny killed, with Kyle repeatedly shouldering any responsibility. In the movie Post Covid, Stan would accidentally cause his older sister's death by burning down his father's business out of spite, and he would be the one to refuse to take accountability for his actions. To hammer this point down, Kyle himself would be the one to call him out on his Never My Fault attitude on several occasions.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • In Jesus vs. Frosty short, the kid who resembles Cartman is referred to as "Kenny" by the other boys. 10 years later, Cartman would accidentally drink Kenny's ashes and become the temporary host of his soul.
    • In Jesus vs. Santa short, Cartman's last line is: "Yeah, I'll be a Jew too". Lo and behold, Cartman becomes a rabbi as an adult in the movie Post Covid, released on November 25, 2021. Doubles as Heartwarming in Hindsight.
  • You Don't Look Like You: The boys' design changed drastically from one short to another; being shorter, losing their noses, and having different colored winter clothes. Of all of them, Kyle is the biggest offender, his headgear changing from a yellow baseball cap to a green ushanka.
