- Hilarious in Hindsight: Something virtually identical to Barbie's "highlighter lipgloss" containers actually exist now.
- Misattributed Song: "Invisible" is by pre-fame Kesha, not Skye Sweetnam (currently of Sumo Cyco fame).
- Retroactive Recognition: One of the prominent songs in the movie, "Invisible", was composed and sung by none other than a pre-fame Kesha, as "Kesha Sebert".
- Unintentional Uncanny Valley: While the early Barbie CGI films aren't usually masterpieces in character design, The Barbie Diaries especially stands out as this; all the human characters have flat hair textures and expressions that range from Dull Surprise to unintentionally creepy. (It should be noted this film wasn't produced by the usual team at Mainframe Entertainment, which at least partially explains it.)
