• Ensemble Dark Horse: After the success of "Hollow Pursuits," the writers were certain to include another Barclay episode in this season.
• Genius Bonus: When Barclay is talking to Einstein, he says that Einstein's attempts to incorporate quantum principals into general relativity would mean they'd have to increase the cosmological constant greatly to make the math work; Einstein replies that if that were the case, there would have to be twenty-six dimensions in the universe, not just ten. This isn't Technobabble; reconciling the seeming-incompatibility of quantum mechanics and general relativity is one of the major hurdles in modern science, with string theory being the prevailing theory of how to do so (in which there would be twenty-six dimensions), and the cosmological constant is a real scientific term used in relation to how the two don't line up properly.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Fans have joked that it's too bad Barclay didn't write down how to instantly jump a starship 30,000 light-years when he was assigned to Project freaking Voyager. The consensus seems to be that the Cytherians remove all this advanced knowledge from a ship before sending it back where it came from (and did the same with Barclay's brain).
