YMMV / Squishables

• Broken Base:
  • Let's just say that anything involving voting for a new Squishable tend to involve this. If there's a question on Facebook on what the next Squishable should be (on their official page, no less), it's guaranteed at least half of the comments will boil down to "VOTE FOR X".
  • The subject on whether or not humanoid Squishables should be made. ^note There have been humanoid-based Squishables in the past such as a Dr. McNinja plush.
  • Fans are divided over whether or not copyrighted characters should be allowed. For the record, Squishables cannot make copyrighted characters unless they get permission from the copyright owners themselves. ^note They do make custom-made plush for businesses and whatnot. Likewise, they do have a Google Android plush, but that was created under a creative commons liscence and is in no way associated with Google.
• Creepy Cute: Many of their plushes, like the Plague Doctor (and later, a Plague Nurse) The Grim Reaper, and even Cthulhu himself!
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Both the Welsh Corgi and both variations of the Shiba Inu Squishables have been some of the most popular in the line to date.
  • The Plague Doctor. One would expect a Creepy Cute plush to have a fairly niche appeal, but it instead skyrocketed to the top of the best sellers list, leading to the site crashing not once but twice due to increased traffic, and Plague Nurses and massive versions being produced.
• Memetic Mutation: The pufferfish has been subject to many "funny caption" pictures among the fandom due to its goofy appearance.
  • "ERMERGERD! PERFFERFERSH!"
• Ridiculously Cute Critter: Most Squishables fall under this.
• Ugly Cute: The Worrible! A drooling, bulgy-eyed, gray thing with a big butt. Yet, it's oddly endearing.
