  • Broken Base: Despite being mostly a prop throughout the series (albeit one who's been in the show since the pilot), Jason White had a sizeable fanbase, so his unceremonious death in this episode rubbed some people the wrong way. On the other hand, some of his fans were still happy that the character finally had a major impact on the plot of an episode, even if it was posthumously.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Cartman's reaction to Jason getting run over by a car because he tried to catch a Gridiron football? "That totally would've been a touchdown."
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Despite only appearing in this episode, Alejandro has garnered a considerable fanbase for being a genuinely tragic Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Robert White is still Playing the Victim Card, continues to support an incompetent president, and abuses his adopted son. But keep in mind he just lost his son and he is not taking out his mourning in a healthy manner.
  • Misaimed Fandom: An example of within the show itself: while the Aesop was the same one as The Joker without the racism aspect, they ignored the fact it was balanced out in the movie by showing Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse. The show treated Alejandro's actions as excusable even though he hurt innocent townsfolk for something Mr. White did.
  • The Woobie:
    • Alejandro: he gets separated from his family and adopted by the Whites, who abuse him, treat him like a dog, and force him to participate in their crusades (and then abuse him some more when he doesn't want to participate). They don’t even bother to learn his language and try to understand what he is saying, always answering back to him by saying "Bien, gracias ¿Y tú?"note . He becomes a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds after he snaps and becomes Mexican Joker.
    • Alejandro’s adoptive brother as well: this boy (who is Ike’s age), like Alejandro, does not know English. He misses his true family, and quickly finds out through Alejandro that the Whites, his new adoptive family will treat him horribly as well, and by the end of the episode the little boy loses his one ally. Considering how badly the Whites treated Alejandro, and how Alejandro reacted to it, odds are the Whites, not learning a thing, are going to treat the boy just as badly, if not worse, as Alejandro. Odds are, they might not even treat him like a human, considering he was originally adopted to be Alejandro’s pet.
    • Jason too: he’s always wanted to have something to do, and he gets his wish by playing football with the other boys; sadly for him, he dies during the game, and to top that off, no one comes to his funeral.
    • The Marsh family: after everything Randy puts them through, they are happy he’s going to jail for everything he’s done, and there's hopeful talk about them being able to go back to their old lives. Sadly for them, and the audience, Randy gets away with everything (again), and they are still stuck on the farm feeling miserable.
