YMMV / Oddbods

Go To

  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Pogo. One side of the fandom finds him to be Plucky Comic Relief that fits well into the show, while the other views him as annoying with his constant pranks and childish behavior.
    • Zee. Fans are heavily divided on him. They either see him as a Lazy Bum character who often freeloads food off his friends, can't keep house, or just drags through episodes with his slow, tired personality. Or they see humor in all that, followed by his Brilliant, but Lazy role that's been established in a number of episodes.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Good grief, there are a ton of them! Despite the gray-sporting Oddbods serving as only background characters, some have piqued fan interest.
    • The female jogger from "Jog On". Fans enjoyed how she attracted both Slick and Fuse (the latter hardly involved with romantic plot). There's also her Non-Standard Character Design that distinguishes her from other graybods.
    • Zee's sister. Her introduction in "Uncle Zee" shows her as loving towards her brother regardless of his lifestyle, to the point she fully trusts him to watch over her kids. The fact that she and her husband are not Look-Alike Lovers as some of the MC's families really got audience's attention.
  • Launcher of a Thousand Ships: Many people like to ship Newt with either Pogo, Fuse, Jeff, Slick, Zee and Bubbles as well.
  • Nausea Fuel: A good chunk of the one-minute episodes are surprisingly disgusting for the cute style. Events range from eating bugs, to toilet humor, to even blood spurts in a few episodes. Thankfully, the gross factor has died down since the cartoon's Art Evolution.
  • Periphery Demographic: While Oddbods has tons of younger viewers, it also has a large amount of fans ranging from teens to adults. One Animation has made it clear that the show is made for "all audiences". There truly is a little odd in everyone!
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: Bubbles is often mistaken for a male at first sight.
