  • Informed Wrongness: The comic addresses Tempest Shadow's Strawman Has a Point from The Movie with the redeemed Tempest reiterating her complaints about how easily she and the Storm King were able to conquer Equestria which get disproven by her realizing the superiority of idealistic, non-violent means of dealing with such and how it got them though numerous other threats. But while such worked here, they wouldn't apply to the Storm King's invasion and most of the major threats as they were so evil or dangerous they still had to be stopped by fighting, with many having to be defeated before they could be so redeemed or refusing such. That, and many of Equestria's wins still coming down to luck (Villain Balls or Deus ex Machina) and the casualties that realistically should have resulted from the constant threats, mean Tempest's complaints about their lack of effective military to prevent or deal with such sooner still hold unintentional weight. Tempest also bemoans the Crystal Empire depending on magic such it would be invaded or suffer crippling blizzards if it failed, except that's what happened numerous times.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: It would have been nice to see Spring Rain reconcile with Tempest too. He doesn't even appear in person, and it's not explained where he is or what happened to him after he and Glitter Drops dropped out of school.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: A panel shows Tempest now able to use telekinesis. Given Tempest's injury causing them to lose such magic was the driving force behind her character and villainy, how they regained it would have been an interesting story in and of itself that would have fit the theme how she was better off for her redemption. But it and the few times she uses it since pass without any acknowledgment.
  • Wheelchair Woobie: After the Ursa Minor incident, Tempest's old friends tried to include her in their activities. But as she struggled to control her magic with her broken horn, watching her suffer became too much for them to handle. This, combined with them losing contact with her after washing out of magic school, ultimately led her to think that they had abandoned her in her hour of need.
