YMMV / Miraculous Ladybug S05E26 "Re-creation (The Last Day – Part 2)"

Go To

  • Ass Pull: It's revealed that Su-Han has decided to take up Luka, Jagged Stone, and Penny as apprentices of Mirakung Fu. While it's not out of the realm of possibility that Jagged's world tour would eventually lead him to where Su-Han was, it's still rather shocking to see this development, especially since Su-Han hasn't been seen since "Multiplication".
  • Catharsis Factor:
    • For Adrien's fans, the new reality has him no longer under Gabriel's thumb, allowing the boy to finally be free from the oppressive atmosphere that's been placed upon him since the start of the series.
    • For the Love Square fans who wanted Adrien and Marinette to get together, the episode finally has them become boyfriend and girlfriend, sealing it with a kiss that goes completely uninterrupted.
  • Designated Hero: There are detractors who take issue with Félix/Argos becoming an official Miraculous Hero despite never facing consequences for stealing the Miraculous of his new teammates to trade with Gabriel or even apologizing to them or Ladybug. It also doesn't help that they never show what he was doing during the Miraculized Attack unlike the Resistance, Su-Han and his disciples and United Heroez who were actually involved in the grand battle.
  • Esoteric Happy Ending: Aside from Lila getting the Butterfly Miraculous, the ending is presented as a happy one, with Monarch gone and everyone's lives becoming better. However, for all intents and purposes, Gabriel ended the season without answering for any of his crimes — even with his death, he's achieved his main goal (getting to use a Wish), his son still loves him despite all of his abuse, the rest of Paris sees him as a hero and a martyr, and the only people who know he was Monarch aren't telling anyone for now. On top of that, Tomoe is still free to go through with her own plans (which unlike Lila doesn't even get mentioned). As such, many fans ended up seeing it as more of a Bittersweet Ending at best.
  • Fanfic Fuel:
    • The season ends with a brand new reality being created by the Wish. What are the changes between the previous one and the new one?
    • How much information did Lila pick up from Bug Noire and Gabriel's conversation while stealing her new Miraculous?
    • How did Su-Han meet with Luka and began to train him, Jagged and Penny?
    • We end up seeing Tikki and Plagg's true forms, which are gigantic, angelic-like beings. How do the other Kwamis look in their true forms?
    • Gimmi is confirmed to be the fusion of Plagg and Tikki. Considering the multiple unifications we've seen before this point, are there other "fusion" Kwami created from these specific unions? If so, what are their names and concepts?
    • Gimmi makes it clear that Equivalent Exchange is very much obligatory for their wishes. The episode does not state Gabriel's wish explicitly, but many viewers believe that he healed both Nathalie and Emilie, which would require a second sacrifice beyond Gabriel himself. Assuming that isn't Amelie in the epilogue, who's the other person that got sacrificed?
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Chloé was frustrated about rarely being given the Bee Miraculous due to her identity being publicly known, and grew too impatient and resentful of this. Ironically, her actions and betrayal at the end of season 3 led to a chain of events that resulted in Marinette eventually giving all the Miraculous to their holders permanently, with Chloé not being one of them.
  • One-Scene Wonder: Gimmi only has around one minute of screentime nearly the end, but boy do they steal said minute. The same also applies to Tikki and Plagg's true forms that appear for even less time.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The episode ends not only with Adrien never finding out that his father was Monarch or even fighting in the final battle, but him only remembering when he tried to be a good father, as per Gabriel's request to Marinette. A few fans found issue with this, especially since Adrien is considered to be the center of the plot while still rarely getting focus, and a battle between him and Monarch would’ve been impactful. These fans believe that since the season had been working towards Adrien growing more and more independent of his father, it would've been more thematically appropriate for him to learn about Monarch, fight him, and decide for himself how he would remember him.
