YMMV / Kangaroo Jack: G'Day U.S.A.!

Go To

  • Awesome Music: If there is at least one thing that people celebrate this film for, it's Jackie Legs' cover of "I'm Gonna Knock You Out". Considering that he's voiced by Jeff Bennett, this is to be expected.
  • Popular with Furries: Unlike the Bait-and-Switch nature of the original movie’s titular kangaroo, Jackie Legs is a central character in the film and thus his Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal appearance has earned it some Furry attention.
  • Salvaged Story: The film serves as something of an offering to disgruntled viewers of the original who were expecting the film to be a kid-oriented talking kangaroo comedy like they were promised by the film's misleading trailer and poster, since the sequel now has the eponymous Kangaroo Jack (who is even given the ability to talk to humans by a magic spell), as well as being given more screen-time.
  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel: Although its critical reception was still lukewarm at best, the film was reviewed markedly better than the original. This is probably both due to it being a generally more cohesive and followable story as opposed to a rewrite-addled Idiot Plot like the original, and being more true to the kid-friendly advertising the original played to; the titular kangaroo, for instance, is turned into an actual character with his own role in the story, satisfying those angered by his wasted role in the original film.
