  • Complete Monster: Agent LaFranco at first appears to be just a shady government official who is doing some unknown stuff with recreating dinosaurs, which end up getting loose and killing many people. At the end, LaFranco reveals to Talbot that he intentionally let the dinosaurs out, so that he could swoop in and stop the dinosaurs, becoming a hero, while showing complete apathy to the number of people that died.
  • Narm Charm: Most of the dialogue is as cheesy and narmy as you'd expect a B-movie to be. However, many of Pippi's lines are at least tolerable because she's the most sensible of the entire cast making her otherwise poorly written lines a bit more tolerable than the rest of the cast.
  • Nightmare Fuel: If you can move past the bad CGI, the story itself actually is rather nightmarish.
    • Imagine working security at a facility where the government creates powerful vicious creatures, only to realize that one of them got out and your life is in extreme danger, and you're alone, no less.
    • A jail is the best and worst place to be in a situation like this. The raptors haunting the jail have trouble getting through the bars...and so will you if you don't have the keys. And even if you do, you'll have a lot of trouble trying to escape them once they catch site of you. Also, you have almost no way of contacting the outside world for help, leaving you completely helpless against the monsters, and you're only hope is to escape on your own.
    • In a more mundane sense, the main characters are mostly female, but they're in the presence of a Serial Killer who targets young women. The terror of this situation isn't brought up too much early on, but it's very clear that these girls are teetering a double edged sword. One of their only helpful allies is also someone who will condemn them to a violent death himself. Especially the level-headed Pippi. One can only imagine how much horror she's internalizing knowing this.
  • Special Effects Failure: The CGI used to bring the dinosaurs and much of the violence to life is extremely obvious.
