• Heartwarming Moments:
  • Skid and Pump staying with each other no matter what happens to them in the laboratory. It just shows how much they truly care for each other.
  • This extends to when Skid and Pump are separated and they desperately try to find each other. Doubles as Tearjerker.
  • Pump finally finds Skid in Chapter 12. He even offered to cut off the roots that were troubling Pump throughout the story. However, Skid isn't the same person he was before...
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • The elevator transformation sequence in Chapter 3. The fanfic goes to great detail about how Skid's and Pump's bodies are altered until they become their respective costumes (and Pump beginning to vomit the insides of a pumpkin, including the seeds). It's revealed in Chapter 14 where their hair ended up...^note  They vomited out the hair.
  • Skid's brainwashing in Chapter 10. When he woke up from his coma, a crystal was lodged into the crack in his skull where the band-aid was. It sounds bad enough, until Skid is forced to eat a raw kidney. Then, Skid's eyes start bleeding as his claws grow sharper, all the while Monster starts chanting a Madness Mantra:
  May you find hunger in your pain

  Your mind will crack, the souls will laugh
  Til’ all is madness in your brain
  May you find pleasure in the kill
  With manic laughter, blood will spill
  Your brain hijacked, you won’t turn back

• Squick: The fanfic goes into great detail to describe the gruesome events that happen in the story, from the aforementioned elevator scene, to Skid's brainwashing at the hands of Monster.
• Tearjerker:
  • What did Pump see in the "deepest desire" mirror? Him getting love and affection from his parents.
  • Pump's separation anxiety after he finds out Skid had gone missing. He ends up crying his eyes out due to both his fear of what happened to Skid and what is happening to himself as well.
  • The scene where Skid starts cutting the roof of Pump's mouth until he's bleeding is gut-wrenching enough, especially when Skid jams the scissors into Pump's shoulders and Pump kicking his friend to get him to stop. Skid Hearing Voices that tell him to kill himself in the next chapter can be very heartbreaking to read as well.
