- Continuity Lock-Out: While the first book can be read if you'd never seen anything with Alan Partridge in it, many of the jokes (and certainly the Unreliable Narrator conceit) are a lot easier to get if you have a familiarity with the character's previous works, especially Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge and I'm Alan Partridge. The second book is a bit more of an original work so this is a bit less of a problem, but there are nevertheless some large sections where familiarity with Mid Morning Matters and Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa definitely help makes things clearer.
