- Moe: Tomoe fits the description to a T, being a 10-year-old fox-folk; she even initially caused the usually serious Liscia to Squee, when she found out that she'll be placed in the Royal Family as her adopted sister. The point is driven even further home by the casting of Moeka Kishimoto as her Japanese VA.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: We're supposed to root for Sympathetic Slave Owner Ginger, who is presented as such because he actually treats his slaves somewhat like humans, feeds and educates them, and doesn't horribly abuse, torture or rape them. Yet his ultimate plan of action is to... keep treating them as subhuman property to be sold off to other people that also view them as such under the veneer of being "sympathetic" (even explicitly stating that educating them, rather than being strictly beneficial for them as persons, is a conscious attempt to make them more appealing to said "sympathetic" buyers), without ever even trying to simply find another career path and free them all right there and then. In other words, the whole subplot is essentially just following, and rooting for, an abuser in his misdeeds.
