- Awesome Music: Jake Kaufman's remix of the music in the NES port. The original NES soundtrack is pretty good itself.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: In 1988, SNK removed the identities of Che and Fidel from the North American NES version and replaced them with generic guerrillas due to fears of causing political controversy. 20 years later, the Compilation Re-release SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, which includes all versions of said game, proudly features Che on the cover art.
- Polished Port: The NES version plays more well and balanced compared to the first two Ikari Warriors games that were ported to the NES. The NES version also has unlimited continues and also, the Big Bad is defeated at the end while he gets away in the arcade version.
