- Adaptation Displacement: Gilgamesh is based on a old manga made by the Cyborg 009 guy!?
- Bile Fascination: Gained notoriety after it was featured on Animerica.
- Superlative Dubbing: Alice Fulks' performance as Countess Hiroko Kageyama is widely considered the defining reason to watch the series for some viewers, as her shaky timbre and cold sense of isolation raise the character to even more compelling heights than she is in the original Japanese verison.
- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: Immortal monsters made from antimatter that want to create some sort of new reality. And on the other side, a Manipulative Bitch whose main reason for getting rid of the reflective sky (which gives the heroes their incredible powers by the way, meaning they probably shouldn't be serving her) is being dumped by the guy who engineered the future. The children are such Wide Eyed Idealists that they get used by both sides. It's actually a relief when there is an "Everybody Dies" Ending.
