• Angst? What Angst?: The episode lost a good joke because of John Cleese's unwillingness to do this. The original ending was that the late Mr. Leaman's twin brother arrived, greatly upsetting Basil who thought he was the guest and had been pranking him. Cleese realized that at some point the man would have to catch on that his brother was dead, which would ruin any comedy.
• Catharsis Factor: This is the one episode where Basil escapes his usual comeuppance and Sybil is left to deal with all the consequences.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Mr. Leeman is played by Derek Royle, who would later be best known for playing the second LeClerc in 'Allo 'Allo!.
  • Mrs. Chase is played by Mavis Pugh, who would later be best known for playing Lady Lavender in You Rang, M'Lord?.
