YMMV / Family Guy S6E12 "Long John Peter"

• Broken Base: The Cutaway Gag with Michael J. Fox as Zorro. Fans have cited it as the point of no return with its insensitivity to people affected by Parkinson's. Then there are fans who don't mind it, saying Family Guy has gotten away with much worse.
• Suspiciously Similar Song: During the scene where Peter and his pirate buddies give chase to a British guy, the music that plays in the background is similar to the theme to The Sea Hawk.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Many fans feel that the plot about Peter becoming a pirate could have been an episode in its own right. Unfortunately, it only lasts for the first act.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Chris. While the episode tries to make you feel bad for him after his girlfriend dumps him, it doesn't change the fact that he chose to take Peter's relationship advice, despite Peter being a well-known idiot who stole (and ending up killing) somebody's pet parrot earlier in the same episode. Even if Chris (somehow) thought he was doing the right thing, the fact that Chris was willing to injure Brian just to have an excuse to see the girl at the vet makes you wonder if Chris should be in a relationship with any girl at all.
