• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Citizen Robespierre is played by Peter Gilmore, who would later be best known for playing Captain James Onedin in The Onedin Line.
  • One of the Duc de Pomfrit's admirers is played by Jacqueline Pearce, who would later be best known for playing Servalan in Blake's 7.
• Special Effects Failure:
  • The girl playing the harp at Ffing House is clearly not playing the harp, only pretending to play it.
  • At one point, the water coming out of a fountain is clearly a solid plastic rod.
  • When the soldiers leave the coach outside the Bastille, the coach is rocking from side to side, revealing that the actors are first boarding the coach out of shot.
  • When Citizen Camembert runs into the harp, it is clearly a different harp (larger, more strings, lighter finish) that was set up to allow Kenneth Williams to run into safely.
