YMMV page for the Manga Di[e]ce.

  • Fridge Horror: Once you learn what really happened to Naoto's mom, the earlier scenes where he's cheerfully talking to her on the phone become very, very creepy. So do his claims that he visits her in her hospital room and talks with her. She can't have had much to say...
  • Ho Yay: This being a Shoujo manga with an almost all-male cast by a yaoi Doujinshi artist, serialized in the same manga that Loveless ran in? Yeah, there's plenty of that. The bishops and knights on both sides are obsessively devoted to their kings; their kings are their only reason for living, it's stated again and again. Sion deserves special mention for coming across as a Stalker with a Crush, and for all the panels where he's gratuitously touching a flustered, protesting Kazuki with his Healing Hands. But the biggest source of Ho Yay is, without a doubt, Kazuki and Haruki's relationship. Their friendship is all longing looks, dramatic embraces, and a metric ton of single-minded loyalty. They come across as Star-Crossed Lovers.
  • Stoic Woobie: It's easy to feel bad for Sion, considering that he was brainwashed in the most traumatizing way possible to protect Kazuki ... only to see all his efforts go to waste, since Kazuki decides to throw himself on Haruki's knife to end di[e]ce.
