• Iron Woobie: Maia's a sweet and positive girl who has one bad thing happen to her after another. To illustrate: Gloria, in a joking manner, said that as soon as Maia got off the airplane she'd have her bags stolen by a gypsy cab; it happened just as she said immediately as she said it. However, despite all the bad things that happen to her, Maia never whines or breaks down. She just says her Survival Mantra and moves on.
• Theiss Titillation Theory: Absolutely nothing at all appears to hold on the bottoms of Rena and Shizuka's field outfits. This could be Maebari — a Japanese form of real life fetishwear which amounts to essentially a bikini made out of tape.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Yu Park falls into this after her introduction. She got a few Hidden Depths to her throughout the series but otherwise was mainly used as a comic foil to Gloria or at times just a generic henchwoman by Rena.
