YMMV / D'LIRIUM

Go To

  • Broken Base: While really small, it does seem to peak: Whether or not D'lirium fits within the fanon of MLP:FIM. While the character models, game poster, and the way everypony looks definitely fits MLP:FIM, the game doesn't feature any references to the show itself (no mentioning of the Mane Six, the Princesses, the fact they're celebrating New Years/Christmas, compared to Hearth's Warming Eve, and the most obvious, no cutie marks) makes it more confusing. Granted, it makes sense to not mention the show, considering it'd get Cease and Desist to hell and back by Hasbro (a habit they're infamous for), but it still makes thinks murky.
  • Demonic Spiders: Nightmares are extremely hard to kill and can fire ranged attacks that can one-hit kill the player.
    • The Lost is arguably the most frustrating one: it sends out Phantoms repeatedly unless you kill it and if you don't know teleportation, you're screwed.
  • Epileptic Trees: Did the Casket truly turn Ada evil? Or was it the trauma of being in hell and seeing her friends killed that drives her up the wall?
  • Narm: Some of the dialogue tends to be this, mainly in the beginning scene.
  • Spiritual Successor: This game is the closest fans will ever get to a Silent Ponyville game, whether or not it's connected to MLP:FIM.
  • The Woobie: Ada really deserves a hug from the amount of hell she suffers, to the point of Break the Cutie when she ends up becoming a She Who Fights Monsters and turns evil. And even before that, she's a very bleak and somber mare, judging from her attitude in the earlier scenes before shit hit the fan.
