- Awesome Art: The background sceneries are very beautiful-looking.
- Genius Bonus: The mouse is called Gabriel, as Scrooge was originally going to be called. The book was going to be called The Adventure of Gabriel Grubb, and would have had goblins instead of ghosts.
- Nightmare Fuel: The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come shows Scrooge that not only was his corpse looted, it was left there for three days before they found it and was only preserved because of the cold. The Ghost's appearance is also quite effective, being a towering Living Shadow whose robes melt into the surroundings to show the scenes.
- Questionable Casting: Jacob Marley is voiced by Nicolas Cage using an accent from no recognizable part of England.
- So Bad, It's Good: This adaptation of A Christmas Carol is generally regarded as one of the worst, from the changes made to the story, the low-quality character animation, and especially the comic relief mice. However, it's so silly it can swing around the other way to enjoyable.
- Tear Jerker: Kate Winslet's song for the film, "What If", which not only perfectly encapsulates how Belle was feeling after seeing what Scrooge has become, but is likely one of the best songs to embody how one would feel after a failed relationship in general."What if I had never let you go?
Would you be the man I used to know?
If I'd stayed
If you'd tried
If we could only turn back time
But I guess we'll never know..."
