Compared to the waterworks display that Azusa gives us whenever her parents are brought up, her friend Akira seems mostly acceptant of the fire that orphaned her ten years ago to an almost uncaring degree. This is subverted in the chapter immediately following the murder of Aunt Homura, but it's almost as if it never happened afterwards.
Azusa's murder of Akira is mentioned so little after the fact that one would forget that it ever happened in the first place.
Fan-Preferred Couple: Azusa/Akira is the most popular pairing by far, although Conchita/Luna/Esther is almost equally as popular, usually the Beta Couple for the former. Azusa/Chiriko and Hitomi/Kimmy have their own following too.
Ho Yay: Because of Azusa pointing out how big Akira's boobs are in the narrative, many fans have interpreted it as Azusa being interested in girls, especially when she compared her rival Chiriko's boobs to Akira's.
One-Scene Wonder: The buff yakuza member from chapter 17 garnered so much popularity from fans despite not having any physical description aside from being buff, that he reappears twenty chapters later. Maxwell Grayston may be this for some fans too.
Wangst: Azusa cries at the drop of a pin often without any sort of prompting. She could be having a pleasant conversation with someone and then suddenly remember her parents and spontaneously burst into tears. She was even said at one point to cry for more than an hour in a school bathroom.
