YMMV / Charmed S8E22 Forever Charmed

  • Alas, Poor Scrappy: As disliked as Christy was, having to be killed by her own sister was a very tragic end for her. Combining that with the deaths of their parents a few episodes ago, this leaves Billie without any family left.
  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Christy's final act - conjuring a fireball and sending it at Billie. Was she just so consumed by rage that she lost all sanity and wanted to kill Billie as revenge? Or was that her form of Suicide by Cop, preferring to go down fighting?
  • Catharsis Factor: After how despicably evil Christy had been, it is ungodly satisfying to see her suffer Break the Haughty as her entire plan crashes down around her. She has to watch all her allies killed, being left an incoherent ball of rage. And she rejects her redemption, getting burnt alive by her own fireball, turned on her by the sister she manipulated.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Patty repeatedly finding out the tragedies that will happen to her in the future. There's so many that at one point she just rolls her eyes and goes "what don't I know?"
  • Fan Fic Fuel: As this confirms that Chris and Wyatt fight demons in the future, this sparked many 'Charmed Sons' fan fictions.
  • Fanon: Fans like to imagine that Piper's unnamed daughter in the Distant Finale is named Melinda, after the child she had in "Morality Bites". Note that when Wyatt is born, Piper alludes to wanting to name him after Prue (when he was thought to be a girl). The Season 9 comics made this Ascended Fanon and named the daughter Melinda.
  • Narm Charm: Piper being reunited with Leo and everyone clapping. Cheesy yes but still heartwarming.
  • Never Live It Down: Brad Kern for years couldn't live down not including Prue in the episode. He himself regrets it, wishing he could have included a picture of her at the end. The budget was apparently so tight that had he paid the $8000 to use Shannen Doherty's image, one of the returning cast members would have had to be dropped.
  • She Really Can Act: Regardless of what people thought of the character, Kaley Cuoco did bring it when she was forced to kill Christy.
  • Strangled by the Red String: Due to the rushed build-up, a lot of fans raise their eyebrows at Phoebe saying she didn't know what love was until she met Coop. Granted they could have taken time to see if they were meant to be together but the finale just cuts to their marriage.
